I'm having a problem opening my drivers side door with the outside handle. I can try over and over and it might eventually catch and open. Not sure if it is the outside handle or just an adjustment that needs to be made. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Not sure about adjustments, but the outer handle assembly is only $65.

You need to replace the outside handle. I had this happen last year and did it myself, it's pretty easy. It quits working because they used cheap plastic parts on the mechanism inside and this one little piece breaks after around 65,000 miles it seems like.

Until you get this fixed, you can hold down the unlock button on your key fob if you have one and the windows will roll down, then you can open it from the inside. That's what I did while waiting for the part

Try looking one on ebay. They have the cheapest price when i got mine. Abt 30 mins job. Look at the diy to help you out.

holy crap this is crazy. My car just hit 67,000 miles and this happened last night. Look like I have to get a new door handle. And this happened to my driver side.

 

FYI, this is the part that is broke inside the door handle. A new OEM handle cost $60 from Ebay will solve the problem. Installation is 30 minutes or less.

 

I too am having this problem. My driver side door handle on the outside quit working so I tried using the unlock button on my RKE and that worked for awhile, but now my window will not roll down at all!!! VERY ANNOYING! Im gonna take everything apart this weekend and see exactly what it is i need. Im thinking im going to need a new cable to connect to the door handle, and a new motor possibly... WISH ME LUCK!

 

Did mine not to long ago too.. main focus is just dont drop the screw into the door. I slid a piece of cardboard underneath it to help slide it out. I just tried to take my other handle off to paint it though and the bottom screw stripped out in the handle itself, so i hope that doesnt happen to any of you guys haha.
