Definitely get some 12000K bulbs - they're the best.

I'm running those headlights because I never had stock headlight when I bought my z. They shine where they are suppose to. I'm using 5000k HID's with a slim ballast(fits right inside the headlight) I paid $260 for them new. They are the only aftermarket headlight worth buying(I've had all 3 types) in terms of being able to actually light up the road.

Never ask anyone on here their opinions on your own car. It's yours, do what you want.
If it was up to them, they would have you do the same cliche mods to make it look like every other modded car.

I don't like those at all

Save for the 06+ or don't do anything at all

I assume the answer is yes, but do the '06 light fixtures fit on an '03? That orange strip drives me insane! When I've got the money I'd happily spend a few hundred to get rid of it.

edit; Goddamn, carid says $600+ per headlight? Ouch.

Several threads on how to upgrade the early to late headlights - just a few minor wiring changes. You can find a good pair of used '06> lights for 1/2 of new if you have good luck/timing.

swapping 03-05 to 06+ is PNP with OEM and perfect fit
you can cut the blue wire to shut off running side light but no needed, places sell pairs brand new for $750 with no ballast/bulbs

Actually you have options but I will suggest you not to go for black housing. Headlights are the most important parts of the car so install the original one its better otherwise you have a vehicle and you have also choices.
