Nah you have the right idea. But I believe there is a better alternative to just plain ol' silicone though. Maybe someone else can chime in on that..

I absolutely love these headlights with the philips D2S Bulbs 4300k or 5000k I think these are better than the stock ones at the dealership because the housing is actually blacked out and you when turn it on it will turn on the orange reflectors on the headlights with the 4 orange dots.

These headlights are worth every penny

Yea ? I do t know what else there is I'm going to look it up I def don't want it too messy . It's got to be down low where the water or condensation is getting in , it's the only part that starts to fog up. Although the rear cover goes on and off pretty funny compared to oem I don't think that's the problem . Lastly I want to test where it is getting I. But don't want to spray water . Any other ideas ?

I just picked up a pair. I figured for the price why no give it a shot. I decided to take a picture of the comparison of my OEM 03 HIDs and the DEPOT projector just to show anyone the difference if they were planning on switching over.

The driver's side is the depot 06+(with Phillips D2S bulbs) and the passenger side is the OEM 03 HID

Sorry I couldn't take better pictures, it was getting dark so I just snapped a few pics with my iPhone really quick so I can finish off the other side.

So far you're the only one with this issue. I just got mine and put it through a car wash and it seems to be fine. Did you make sure you seated the ballast gaskets/rear cover gaskets on correctly? Because when I put it back together I thought it was fine but the cover sat funny so I unscrewed it and readjusted the gasket. Also make sure you tightened the ballast down all the way--not too hard, just enough for there to be no gap between the headlight and ballast mounting point. I also know what you're talking about with a gap in the bottom of the headlight because mine has it too and I thought it was going to give me an issue but no leaking/condensation so far.

Did you have any luck fixing this?

Still holding up strong here after that blizzard, even though any water would be frozen by now

Default High beam wire

So I'm having these depo lights installed today and the mechanic calls me to tell me there is an extra wire on both sides which could cause an electrical fire. I'm guessing it is the extra high beam wire on the existing 2003 HID harness. Would my best bet be to tell him to snip that wire and wrap it in electrical tape or do I need to save this wire?

My z isnt exactly stock.. It blends alot better with the rims and front fascia painted black.. But its pretty close to stock.. Without rims and fascia painted it probably would stick out a little bit.. But they are definatly a beautiful set of headlights crafted very well... They look good just looking at the headlight itself.. Heres a few random pics i took with my phone..

I would just bake em.. Rip em open... Throw some silicia packs in there.. And lay a ton of Silicone/RTV around the areas where it seals.. Also go back and remove the ballasts from there mounts.. Re-align them and tighten them down a ton to make sure thats not an issue as well.. Good luck!

Don't worry man I had issues with condensation too same area. Since I live in SD it's cold that's perhaps one of the reasons. I talked to the merchant I bought them from and he had me take them off like 10times off the car to re check I put everything right. Which was a pain. I was told get some desiccant packs which I never did. I did finally realize a leak that maybe most will be getting soon.
The socket from the turn signal has 3 cables coming out of it and it's sealed with black silicone which is not proparly sealed. The reason I know this I had air put in through the breather tube and air was coming out through there. I bought flowable silicone and went crazy Adding all around and on the back of the socket. Bow I can day there is no leak.

I have an 03 touring. all you'll need is a set of D2S bulbs and the only wire you'll need to snip is the blue wire on the depot headlight that runs to the turning signals. (or else they'll stay on all the time as DRLs)
