rear bumper was left at the body shop yesterday.. hope to have the 370z fog molded into the rear, and to have the hole in the license plate area filled in.. should be done by mid next week, and then the car will come over for the full fit up.
it should go fast now. I cant wait to be done w this sht for real.

doesnt look like much, but i made a "relay board" so that any item i want to wire up can just plug right into this thing and be completely and cleanly powered up and relayed w power direct from the battery post.

I pulled more of the dash sides off than i had previously and it helped run wires in a better cleaner manner as well.
Ordered a z33 specific ignition harness for my turbo timer ( totally unnecessary item, but its cool and does o2 and voltage as well) , rewired my Defi basis HUD, my Apexi throttle booster/controller.. and wired up provisions for back up cameras etc.

Dudes been working on the rear bumper and should have some updated pics fro me soon on the 370z fog light build out.

did you remove the passenger side airbag?

You may want to look into a DC-DC power supply. Voltage off the battery is not very clean at all. Has lots of spikes with load. LED's wont last long if you put 14.7 on them instead of 12v (when wired for 12v). But if you do the DC-DC keep it only for resistive loads...no solenoids.

Yeah the airbag ahs been long gone.. once long ago, the concensus was that removing one airbag disabled them all.. later this was found to be untrue... and now i have aleady sold many of the bags in the car.. pretty lame.

anyways its an optima, i hear theyre a bit better about "cleaning up" power, but honestly, its not going to be any more or less buffered than connecting it elsewhere in the car.. this just makes it a cleaner install i guess.. no performance improvement was really sought.. i just wanted to get rid of janky wiring and make it easier to put in things that ive been seriously slacking on due to the wire mess my car used to have under the dash lol.

Looks way too complicated for me seeing all those wires...

wiring stuff up on this is growing exhausting lol.

All the overkill items i did when it was having the engine built and i was stuck at home with no car for over a year... well.. its been time to make them all work.

Apexi Turbo Timer ( needless little item, but fk it) was a fake and didnt work.. so since i had just ordered a z33 specific ignition harness for it, i threw down and just bought a legit new one.. should be here today.

Also, im tall, and if youre tall a drive a Z, you know that you wind up driving with your left turn signal on all the damn time after getting on a freeway... you cant see the flashing icons behind the steering wheel unless you have it angled way up.. and who does that. So i had added an LED on each side of the OEM gauge pod.. time to wire em up...

I had also flush mounted all the programm buttons and warning LEDs for my steering column mounted gauges to the back of the factory gauge pod in like.. 2011.. time to fix them soon too.

Brain, (lol)
How difficult was it to remove that speedo? I was looking to get the top covered in suede, but Im sure its a hassle to take off.

eh... i guess thats realtive.. taking apart anything inside the car is as easy to me as a baby playing with blocks tbh...

i wouldnt advise taking it apart to cover with suede.. and i also wouldnt advise using suede there at all.. it fades quickly.. and even with my matching suede elsewhere.. i dont think it would loook very balanced tbh..

if i HAD to do that.. id just pay the 80 bucks for the carbon fiber piece like i have and simply wrap that.. you could diy for literally free at that point.. where as removing the speedo makes the car undriveable( your alternator will not work without the gauge on and odomoter running)
and the suede/material thickness tucking back into the parts seams would look pretty meh.. not a sound idea imo unless you just covered the cover.

hmm, so you're saying suede fades easily in those locations? Was going to cover the center console in suede as well. I guess I need to rethink it. damnit.
