the "bmccann101s car gets a new look/ watch me suffer bodywork hell" thread
and i do ask this out of ignorance.. but how is a stand alone wideband o2 sensor not "compatible" with my Osiris tune?
I'ts certainly not whats being used to run the tune or anything, just a sensor i can read visually. i have plenty of extra bung holes for it lol.
can you share a bit more about what you mean or what you ran into?

i am no longer ignorant lol..
aem uego, universal exhaust gas oxygen sensor.
its a standalone.. my tuner added his own during the orig tunes.. then removed it when he was done.. factory o2s dont adjust cleanly enough by themselves.. and some aftermarket widebands actually control the tune being used..
but in my case.. thats not necessary.. its there when the tuner needs it.. and its there day to day when i need to watch it.
good heads up tho.. made me go and learn something.

if your car is planning to make it anywhere near the east coast for a show, give me a couple weeks heads up, I would plan a trip to see the show and like to see the car in person.
if it even makes it only to texas or there abouts. i would probably venture it.
dont see me getting to the west coast anytime soon.

lots of movement over ther long holiday weekend.. we got the splitter rough cut )( nice and oversize.. so that way we have room to shape to our liking at the body shop)

The Evor R ti cover came in as well.. w custom finish.

we also got the brackets for the passenger side Mishimito cooler core to mount up in concert w the oil cooler on the drivers side.

we got the steel splitter bracing bent and welded up as well.. and a quick coating of red caliper paint will protect the metal.. this will be the main piece that we will mount the longitudinal bars that protrude out to the bumper tips.. as well as a latitudinal bar that will span the bumper side to side near the wheel well opening.. as it stands its surprisingly light weight and very very stout. Thers no movement side to side as its gusseted.

I sold my HKS rep exhaust back end... and we removed a large deal of piping from my previous exhaust.. including the wastegate recirculation.. it is now open dump!

we were also able to to do a test "hold and fit" mock up of the rear diffuser as well.. this is going to be tricky w the Tomei in place now.

spread out my box of sponsor and built parts logos.. sweet jeebus.. thats a lot of tool box stickers lol... seeing as though ill have my sponsor logos custom cut by the wrap shop when we do the vinyl.. keep em the same size and colors etc.

In other BIG NEWS from the weekend.. I was able to get a full ride sponsorship from MISHIMOTO thanks to Sarah Albright and Patrick McKay of Mishimoto... thanks a ton for the support you two!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice update! I noticed they used the retainer springs on your exhaust. I've heard they tend to vibrate and cause a metallic rattle under the car. You may not run into that, but if you do you can remedy it by using a little rubber sleeve around the springs. Or not using them altogether, which is what I chose to do. Or you can just live with the sound, because racecar.

no reply from japan yet, but i went and zoomed in on various google images of the wing. and lo and behold.. all the bolt holes are different on each example lol.
I mean.. its not like its a nutsert or anything.. its straight thru bolts and the CF piece there is totally solid.. but DAYMN...
thats a sketch hole to have to drill through a new wing.
Oh well.. man'd up.. ill be fine.. we will get it done easily enough.

haha no for sure man.. i just wanted to make sure that this is waht is SUPPOSED to be done .. vs " oh sht.. we forgot to build it right" lol.
as you can see in most of the pictures.. this isnt deep dark water, shiiny and perfect, cleaned up carbon fiber.. G Mak is kind of known for that unfortunately, but what it is is hand made to order.
You can still see the mold release wax on the pedestal bases too lol.
I would imagine it needs a clear coating as well still. Top of the wing is getting vinyl wrapped black anyways... everything turns yellow in the AZ sun.

it really is!?!?!
first i was like wooow nice parts...and then wait! are there really no holes drilled for the stays
doesn't make sense to me why they didn't.....because trust me i know carbon fiber and if you don't be careful enough with the drilling you can ruin the backside of the drilling hole
.
they really should drilled the holes for the price this part costs.....but i'm pretty sure you'll handle the drilling just fine

yeah i want it done professionally tbh.. and i dont want ANY play in the bolts. that just screams out for stress cracks and wobbling.. i want the holes tight on the bolts so its not just the job of the fasteners to sandwioch it all together, but to hold the wing frmo mving on its own even if it was losely tightened.....so I will likely take it to a maching and composites place vs jsut drilling it out on a press.
