schweet.. my buddy David ( formerly of 18fab, built Hosford's Boss s14 cage etc.. built the almost the entire Elite FRS for this SEMA year etc) offered to help me do the center section cut out this upcoming Saturday.. so we should hopefully be able to meet up w Chase and the guys for Street car takeover during the early part of the day, then off to his place to cut out the metal and get this car back to my house and up on jack stands.

Smart move with regards to dinner dates. Now you just have to make sure any and all remnants of fuel are totally gone and do not return! Woman def don't like smelling like fuel lol...

we finished up the cutting and spot weld drill out last night.. the drill out took twice as long as cutting the metal out itself.. even with good high quality snap-on bits.

Went over them just now with some hi temp etching primer, and I will have to silicone over a few of the holes that had to happen in the wheel well area,, the metal was too thin and the panel would have been distorted if we tried to pop off the welds, so we decided to go thru them to keep the panel looking right.
Easy enough though. A few dabs of black silicone, and then the lightweight sound material will be layed up against each panel to cover all the holes, making the air and other noise much quieter.

Again, then ENTIRE 100 ft sq roll of sound deadener weighs only 11 lbs. I am 100% fine with that as a trade off for vastly reduced noise and much better overall comfort and quality feel and experience when in the car.

Really like where this is going with sound deading etc.. . High End street car build FTW!
side note:
My sc300 (JDM 2jz running a BW s362 FMW) leaves me teary eyed and stinking. Wife won't even go for a quick spin. Have to drive with the windows open. That's what my E90 335 is for . While i'd love to get more powa i won't go full cat deletes on her!

I'm sure that Brian would agree that the worst and most time-consuming part is getting all of those spot welds. I remember when I did mine I was using HF bits and it took forever.

What are you using? I'd be interested in doing the same if it doesn't weigh much.
