Default NRG quick release & NRG Wheel

So I recently bought the NRG quick release along with my hub and steering wheel. As I went to a auto shop, I told them I wanted my new steering wheel installed. This is where it begins... the mechanic told me that I should not change my OEM steering wheel BECAUSE that'll take away airbags (which I knew) but he said the sensor will be left on, therefore, creating an issue later on the road with my tranny. Why? Cause the sensor will throw off my ABS sensor, therefore, creating problems with my tranny. He said that all three (Airbags,ABS,transmission) all work together. So he said he did not recommend me to change my steering wheel... sounds like BS to me but want to know from you guys if this is true or a bunch of nonsense. TY.

I have had aftermarket steering wheel for 3 years and have had no tranny problems. I do have a base so I have no abs on my car. I think that guy is full of it but I am no mechanic.

Does nothing to anything you described, then you can run a resistor to keep your airbag light from flashing and make sure the other airbags work perfectly.

I do not suggest removing your airbag on a street driven car.

Are you sure about that? I'm pretty sure all Z's have ABS. I have an 06 base and I certainly do. I just don't have VDC or traction control.

I've had my Sparco with a NRG hub and quick release for maybe seven years and have not had an issue with it. I do remember that NRG only had one resister included so I had to email the people I bought it from and they sent me another one because it needs two.

My Z is an 03 Performance.

I'm not sure if the guy at the shop is full of it or if he is just trying to help. Maybe what he said happens with some other makes or models. But I know it didn't happen with mine.

I've had a Grip Royal Wheel and NRG hub for the past year and half and have never had any transmission issues. The guy is full of it or doesn't know what he's talking about. Only thing I have problems with is the resistors not working and keeping the airbag light from flashing.
