Depo headlights with switchbacks
I've been researching this site for the last few months and have been getting a lot of great ideas. I've been trying to share some of the ideas I've had as well.
I've upgraded my 05 lights with the Depo lights and saw that a lot of you mentioned that amber light that stayed on. I know it was advised to cut the blue wire to take it out.
I didn't want to do that, so I gave switchback lights a try and I have to say it's nice. I just took a pick from the side inside my garage to show the light, but it looks really nice at night when the DRL is on as well.

I'll clean this up shortly, dinner first.
Look nice, not the way I would do it myself but...... Most if not all states allow white or amber front turn signals. I would just install a clear bulb, but I have been thinking about switchbacks for the front of my Jeep.

I didn't know if Virginia allowed clear bulbs or not. I didn't want to take the chance in having to pull apart the car again to change them. But I did buy the clear bulbs at first. The housing has a piece that covers the light, so unless you're right on it, you can't see the bulb.

Personally I think switchbacks look clean on a 350Z:

Ours will not violate any state or federal laws either since the white portion of the switchback will never be present when the turn signal is in use.

I bought switchback led bulb ( white amber) for my 2008 350z NISMO. It only blinks amber. Cannot get it to switch. Saw somewhere i may need to wire it with parking light? Not really sure what to do.
Wait.. So all I have to do is buy a switchback bulb and this works?
White is on all the time except when the blinker is on, then it goes orange?
This will solve my issue of not having running lights on whenever the ignition is on (required by law here). People usually just wire in a relay to power up the headlight circuit, or another bulb in the headlight.

It's not working for you because the 2 cars shown in this thread had 03-05 headlights from the factory in which the parking light was wired to stay on. The 06+ turn signal is only used as a turn/hazard light. I would email whoever you bought them from and see what you need to add to make yours "switchback."

On another thread they were talking about tapping into the running light. Then they said they would post instructions but never did. Do you know much about it? I've been googling for 3 days and nothing. Do you think I should just give up?

I'm sure it can be done. I would send Diode Dynamics a PM, I bet they could help you out.
So I was just watching the two 350z DEPO install videos on youtube and at the end of them one car shows the top corner led's lit up while the other car didn't. Is that just because of the difference in years? Also to clarify if my car is an 03 can I just buy a switchback bulb for the turn signal bulb and it will automatically be on as white all the time and then go amber when flashing?
Thank you
Thank you
I think the switchbacks from diode dynamics look great. Installed a set in my 06. Had to splice into the city light i believe as they did not initially turn on white, but only amber when the turn signal was on. The way i have them connected now, when the parking lights are on the white led on the turn signal come on.
Seems like having the signal (which is so large and bright on the Z) illuminated white all the time would be an annoyance to oncoming traffic. And, since oncoming drivers will see 4 white lights, even with only your low beams on, don't your get flashed often?
