Default 2"x11" scratch, attempting to fix, need help/advice

Hello, i recently got a HUGE scratch on my car, roughly 2in by 11in. Its pretty bad. The plastic or fiber glass, whatever stock rear bumper are made of, is exposed. So heres the break down.

I will sand it using probably 200-300 grit, prime it, same with 500. Paint, clear coat, wet sand, buff/polish it.

My question is, how do i blend the new paint to the existing one? Also, how much would it cost to get it professionally fix. I know priced varies between location and quality. Im just looking for an estimate.

I figure, all the material is probably going to run be about 75$ so if i can get it professionally fix for 200 its worth going that route. Any advice or suggestio. Is also welcomed.

If you are not using automotive grade paint with a fine tip quality paint gun, it will look like poot.

So i heard that black paint doesnt fade as badly as other colors. My z has always been garage and well care for. Would it be a pretty safe bet to buy a pre painted bumper? Will the color match pretty closely?

It's impossible to give a definitive answer, but it's relatively safe to say no. Small things like mirrors/mud guards are safe for prepaint. But a large panel like a bumper would definitely show a color difference.

Even a pro body shop will have trouble matching when painting the bumper alone. They'd most likely feather out over the hood and fenders and re-clear everything.

So would you recomend i take it to a shop and get it fix or buy a new bumper and let the shop paint the new bumper? Im not too picky but i dont want something that is noticeable from 5 feet away

If the bumper isn't gouged, I'd take it to a shop and have them fix it. They'd feather over the scratch and wouldn't need to touch any paint on the rest of your car.

Ask to see what they're currently working on in the shop, and if they can show samples of previous work. Judge based on actual work, not on their claims/promises.

Thanks for the advice guys. By gouged do you mean puncher? It basically just the paint flaking off.

By gouged I mean a deep scratch that caused plastic damage. If it's just paint flaking off, it shouldn't be very difficult for a shop to fix.
