Exclamation A metal cube in the trunk on the passenger side

Could anyone please tell me what's the purpose of the metal cube in the trunk (on the passenger side) is, and if it's safe to remove it?
I'm attaching a picture to help with identification of this component.

I wouldn't, although there's not real "harm" in doing so.

That's a harmonic chassis weight, used to deaden vibration from the road. I can't say for sure but I'd guess if you remove it, there's going to be some additional NVH. It's there for a reason - trust Nissan engineering.

There's usually two in the car, one in front somewhere, and the one in back. I'd even venture a guess that a JDM (right hand drive model) has the same.... on the left side of the car to distribute weight more evenly.

Up to you. I don't need no steenkin' harmonics, thanks.
