I imagine the chrome wrap is kinda played out in the larger cities, but it really took this Evora to the next level. It has an aftermarket front that reminds me of a McLaren.
That looks very McLaren! And I see very few chrome wraps in my area, however I do know of some people that have it. My issue with it is that the material alone is such an outrageous price. And then you have to go ahead and wrap chrome yourself, which is even tougher than other vinyl. So the chrome just isn't for me
Anyone have any knowledge about what might be least involved to finish and easiest to wrap over.......AFTER FIBERGLASS corrections to bodywork?
I have had canned two part primer flake off during re positioning of vinyl wrap. I am going back and putting a couple coats of high build epoxy primer over to smooth out imperfections. Just not sure if I need to spray actual paint to seal primer well......or if there is a primer that will cure well enough to provide a surface that won't flake/peel off.
I priced the ppg paint I have my heart set on and it was $1400 a gallon for base + another $400 for mid-coat. Not ready for all that yet.
Most recent project is wrapping the bumper on the car I just posted. I have 1 large piece laid so far but Im finish it up when I get more time. I will end up leaving the bottom carbon lip exposed
Thats probably the nicest looking 'neochrome'/'mirrored'/'rainbow-y' vinyl Ive seen.
How was the application of that versus just a basic metallic or gloss vinyl? I imagine the finish on the psychedelic will very easily show stretches
I too am a huge lotus fan, but Im more about the s2 elise and exige. Ever is a much 'nicer' car but I like the elise styling and barebones factor better
Figured id throw my vinyl project on here.
Never had experience with wrapping a car before but i always wanted to make my Z blue so last week finally pulled the plug on ordering 5ftX55ft of avery dennison diamond blue, the stuff was extremely easy to work with, i only had to use heat on the bumpers. There are some small little imperfections here and there but nothing noticeable unless your really examing it. Total time was 5 days of work spread out between a week and a half. This stuff really sparkles in the sunlight lol
Final product for now, still have to figure out what to do with the mirrors. Failed at wrapping them so i have to think of something else. Maybe paint them black? Any opinions welcome
