Guess I need a bumper - maybe
Well, title pretty much says it all. Doing about 75 on the way home tonight, hit a big piece of tire on the right side. Luckily, doesn't look like it did any damage to metal components. It did, however, rip the engine shield from the bumper and broke every clip on the bumper from the left headlight to the right.
Shield is toast and I've been eyeing the aluminum replacement available on the forum. Do I need to replace the bumper cover as well, or does anyone have a suggestion as to how I might repair it?
If it needs to be replaced, what's considered price reasonable to prep, paint and install a new cover (OEM or aftermarket). If the whole thing is over $500, I'll probably just claim it on the insurance and pay the deductible. I need to get it fixed quick since its a daily driver and my dear wife isn't happy at the prospect of being stuck when I take her car next week.

You probably have more damage than you think. Probably an alignment together with the bumper cover and lower engine bay cover. It'll be way more than your $500 deductible.
Update:
Thanks for the advice everybody. I went ahead and claimed it on the insurance. They're still working on the estimate. So far it's bumper, engine shield, catalytic converters (both looked banger up he said) and it's off to the alignment shop before they finalize the estimate since he thinks the lower control arm looks bent on the passenger side.
I'm already so far over the deductible I'm glad I had them look at it.

I know nothing about this place other than this ad so caveat emptor, anyone who might be interested.

Got the car back last week. Keep in mind that these are dealer prices, but total came to $2930. Very, very grateful for the advice to just let the insurance handle it.
