Default 280z style Hood Side Mirrors

This is probably a stupid idea, but was wondering what they would look like on the 350z...

Maybe a more modern shaped mirror, but same placement on the hood/front fenders.

Has anyone tried it? too weird?

Innovative thought but given that no Z after Gen 1 and, I think, 2, even in the Japan market were adorned with fender mirrors (that I'm aware of...but if someone shows me pics depicting otherwise, hey), I'd say, "Well, go get a couple of mirrors and 3M tape 'em to your Z33 fenders, take some pics and post 'em up. Could be the start of a new trend."

Or not.

IMO there isn't enough room on the fenders to mount them. The flat strip you have to work with beside the hood is too thin and there is no room underneath it for the supporting mounting hardware. Also, the headlights go back way too far so trying to mount mirrors will clutter up the front end and look ridiculous.

Partay Poopah! haha, jk

That doesn't look too bad, but I get what you're saying. Might be hard to see with the A pillar in the way too.

The cheap eBay ones are adjustable but I think you're right about the a-pillar. They would probably have to be angled straight up to see anything.

Tried to see how they look on the front arches.

Good? Still terrible?

Yeah, no. IMO, takes away from clean lines of the Z33 and serves no functional purpose. (Unless one is going for a "faux JDM" look.... "faux" because as I mentioned, the domestic market Z33 has the same mirrors as US/Euro cars.)

Then again, I'm not into the whole "JDM" thing... UNLESS it's TRUE JDM exotic....meaning RHD, and something along the lines of a Nismo Type 380RS or Fairlady 432Z.

Woof, woof!

But, not my car so have at it.

I could get behind a side view mirror delete mod - but with cameras that display to monitors located in the sail panels.

That'd be boss - but no likey the fender mirrors. I don't think it even looked good on the 240z. Maybe an old Austin Healy. That's about it.

Default Gonna try it.

I realize this is an old topic but my obsession brought me here. My car was vandalized which gave birth to this idea in the first place so!
I used the stock mirror mounts and cut off the part where the mirror sits, making a completely smooth panel successfully deleting the stock mirror placement.
I just ordered some mirrors, should be here in a week, I'll let you know how it worked out with pictures later!

Got my drivers side mirror from Australia. Everything looks bigger and closer.
Every time somebody sits in my seat and looks at it, they say Holy **** . . . . Haha.
