Default Headlight bulb problem

Hey guys I had my drivers side headlight go out in the Z and When trying to figure out what the problem is i unplugged the bulb and just re plugged it back in. After plugging it back in i flipped on my headlights and it worked. then i turned my headlights back off and then on again and now it wont come back on. I dont want to buy a ballast if its maybe just a loose wire or vise versa. any help guys?

Bust out the volt meter, check if you are getting power to the bulb. If you are look inside see if the bulb is blown. Then check connection make sure it's not all rusty or oxided.

If no power on volt meter check fuses.

swapped the bulbs from driver to passenger and both bulbs are fine. everything still looks clean no rust or oxidation and volt meter is showing no voltage or continuity

Sounds like fuse, or cut wire somewhere, has you battery been low in the morning or dead lately? Not sure where the fuse for the headlights are. Try to Google it or check the manual.

Most of the time the fuse it for both headlights. But maybe different on Z's. What year is your Z or headlights of your Z if you upgraded to the newer headlights.

Think it is the ballast then. You kinda went thought all the checks that I would do and know of. Might as well upgrade if you have to replace or ballast replacement. They are not that expensive and might as well replace for both headlights since they come in pairs most of the time.

Did you check if you are getting power to the ballast?

havnt got time to fix it yet. Just been driving my other car at night. I'm guessing it's the ballast or the igniter. I read somewhere else that the ballast could have water in it and that you can just take em out and let them dry out and they occasionally work again. So gunna try that if not guess I'm buying new ballast
