Default 7LED sidemarker is here!

this one belongs to seanrulz, looks very very good.

I'll say it again, pictures are a bad representation. the points of the LED are not as blaringly bright as the photo shows, and there are absolutely 0 area of darkness as the photo shows. it is much more evenly lit.

How much would it cost for you to make a 7 LED Sidemarker clear that blinks?

Michael

By the way, I really like your work.

At first, I inquired ares if I can fit 2 strips of LEDs with 16 each= 32 Luxoen LEDs on each side of sidemarker. (didn't know Luxeons were that expensive and BRIGHT as hell)
It not only costs like almost $1000, but also the light output will rival that of a searchlight
Haha, 7 on each pair is enough for me now.

Yea.. Luxeons would be illegally bright if you did that for the side markers.

My recommendation? DO IT! (MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!)
Have him add a potentiometer.... u kno dimmer ****. :-P

Man.... the white color looks soo nice. I'm in the mood for ordering more Luxeon... stop this madness!

I was in the mood, mood passed, just ordered 100 luxeons. :O

at this point, after making the 7, I dont think I can physicly fit 2 strips, I could fit many more in the strip, 14 or so probably wouldnt be tough, but there wouldnt be much left to the reflector, not sure what the LEDs would be secured to so much of the backing would be gone.

ares, do the LED's in the sidemarkers light it up the marker from top to bottom? In the picture it doesn't look like the very top and very bottom of the sidemarker is lit or has any LED.

I am interested in either a 5 or 7 LED sidemarker but would like to sidemarker to be completely lit from top to bottom. Is it just the picture that's deceiving me?

Please let me know if it's possible to do a 5 LED sidemarker that would be spaced from top to bottom and light up the whole sidemarker. If not, let me know if the 7 LED would accomplish this. Also, let me know what the difference in price would be between 5 and 7 LED's.

Thanks.

Are there any legal issues with these LED sidemarkers? Specifically in CA?

Do I need to worry about getting pulled over because of these things?

Id say its a safe assumption these are not legal. if it was an amber reflector, so it lit up amber, reflected amber ect, that may or may not be illegal, but it probably wouldnt attract cops.

it doesnt specificly fall under any laws like impersinating a cop like blue would, or red on the front of the vehicle. but I think theres a law saying it must reflect amber, which it doesnt, the lighting may just be icing on the cake.

Hey guys,
i'm pretty new to this LED lighting stuff. How are these LEDs connected? Is it directly bolted to the battery or splice into an existing wires? Any info would be appreciated..

splice into existing wires. typicly the parking and/or turn signal wires.

you can power them technically off anywhere you want with 12volts. those 2 are just the norm.
