Racing seat mounting
Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a Sparco Evo 2 seat and am trying to mount it in my car.
I want it as low as possible so I have helmet room, with no adjustment rails, however I am having trouble figuring out a way to do this.
I have a Planted Technology seat base and Planted's side mounts, however the holes for mating the side brackets to the seat base do not line up, and the one position I was able to line them up in places the seat a bit too far back. I also have tried Sparco side brackets and that was even worse unfortunately.
Does anyone else around here have a seat mounted with no rails, and if so how did you mount yours? Any advice?

While the six-point roll cage was being fabricated for my Z, it was the best time to have custom seat mounts built at the same time. The fabricator could put me in the best seated position and position the seatbelt shoulder harnesses to prevent compression injuries.

Its been a while since I mounted them, but iirc the planted brackets have a sweet spot where you can drill a hole and accommodate several positions forward of that rear one that lines up. I run mine in that rearmost spot though so I didnt have to make any modifications.
Custom in the end is best, and quite cheap overall if all your fabricator needs to do is make some seat mounts.
