Default Base Model Cruise Control?

Before I get any hate for making this thread, YES I did search it up and couldn't find an answer.

So recently, I bought a 2008 350z from a private party. He said it's a base model and I believe him because I will sometimes spin when it's wet out. Although, today, I saw on the dashboard above the Fuel and Temperature gauges a 'Set' and 'Cruise' light with the help of the sun in the correct direction.

So my question is, do the base models still have cruise control lights on the dashboard even though they don't come with cruise control? Or did he switch out the whole dashboard?

Again, please be kind. Thank you.

Welcome- no hate here. It's no surprise that Nissan would still use the same gauge faces with cruise control imprints on them for all trim levels. But it still doesn't mean that any of the lights, wiring or any other CC components are actually there. If you've got no buttons on the steering wheel spokes, it's likely you've got a base model Z33.

Haha, that's the thing I forgot to include. The car came with a NRG hub and steering wheel. So that makes it just that more confusing.

I your car is a Base model, there will be no TCS or VDC switch on the lower dash to the left of the steering wheel. If it's an Enthusiast model, there will be a TCS switch. And if it's a Touring model, the switch will read VDC.

You'll need the stock steering wheel with cruise switches or the switches wired in from an alternate location.

Also, the interrupter switches for brake & clutch. The wiring harness (AFAIK) is common for all Z33's.

There is an available Uprev tune which will enable cruise in your base model.

Looks like all the replies here are being very kind to the OP. However, he doesn't say whether or not he wants CC, only to clarify whether the Z he bought has it.

But some other posts are not really very clear, and those who simply blurt out a request in the title without much detail in the post itself won't get much in the way of replies.

Been covered, 03 to 06 has all wiring in place, just reflash ECU , add switches and pedal switches. You now have working cruise, but without the working dash lights. Swap gauge clusters to one with cruise, you now have the working lights.

No you can not just add the bulbs for working dash lights, been tried.

07 to 08 , don’t know if it works like the older cars.
