Default 370Z Speedometer in 350Z

looking at the speedometers of both cars ive noticed both the hr and 370 rev the same and i was wondering how realistic fitting the 370s speedometer in the 350. I really like the look of the 370s speedometer and i know the gas and gear indicators gonna be a problem but idk i thought maybe it was worth askin i havent seen a thread of this from google.

There's no threads on it b/c it's a royal PITA to incorporate different electronic displays from one model into another. These kind of projects get complex very quickly.

Not an easy task. I've done this on the older cressida, Analog to digital and while it only required sourcing a fuel sending unit, its an older car so it was less complex. I can't even imagine attempting this on a 350.

Hey,

If the cable connectors are different, you will have a lot of fun, to start with. My suggestion is for you to compare both service manuals (your 350Z model with the 370Z one you will chop) and check the wiring. 1st step.

Br,
Al

Good advice from everyone, but the OP hasn't been back to this thread to followup. Like a lot of newer members, they tend to ask a question and then disappear....

Is it “old phart’s day” on my350Z.com?

i just ranted the exact same thing - independent of this thread - on a different thread where that occurred. See it here often but nothing like that other Z forum.... no point in even responding because the twitter types ask a question just to hear themselves talk then disappear without a word further.

Get off my lawn!! 😜

It's actually quite easy....you simply remove the radiator cap of your 350z....walk over and install it on a 370Z and walllla, you have a 370Z speedometer on your 350Z.

I'm back on here for ***** and giggles. However, since posting this I got into an accident and totaled my Z. It was too depressing to get back on here you know?

Thank you. I’m okay, I was lucky and got away with cuts, bruises and a sore neck. The Z’s frame was bent beyond reasonable repair. Debating a 370z this time!

Much more than luck involved. Undoubtedly, the passive safety systems in your Z33 worked well to prevent major injury. Progressively crushable structures, seatbelts and airbags mean your Z gave its life to save yours.

Glad you are recovering from the shunt!
