Dash kit or ? to hide imperfections
Hi guys/gals, been looking at eBay, google, reading threads from 10 years ago here..., anyone know of a - how do I say this - non juvenile, cheap, cheesie, or otherwise ugly way to address some deterioration that is happening on the center console? I’d prefer just black, something classy, as the rest of the car is sporty yet still mature. When I touch the dash with say a fingernail, I can peel the top surface off. Bummer, as the car is pretty mint otherwise. Maybe some sort of sticker kit, not sure if painting it would be wise?
Anyone had any luck?

Many people seem to have had good luck with the RIGHT TYPE of paint. "JHC" mentioned one, not sure which it was but that was the most recent mention I recall.

Late to the party, the Krylon was great for armrests/hard surfaces. A friend used DupliColor for Fabric and loves it.
Imho I'd dismount the cubby door and try 4-5 thin sprays as a test.

Yeah I agree, and that stuff looks interesting, might be the ticket. I’ve been reading up the past hour on people’s paint projects. Looks like one can retain the oem texture even by not sanding. (Prep and clean of course)

Wow that looks nice. Can’t tell in the photo but is that more of a matte red vinyl? Did it stick well with just a good clean? You’re happy with that vs paint?
I did happen upon a website Rvinyl that sells a bazillion colors, though I’d probably go with black aluminum or *maybe* carbon fiber if it weren’t too gaudy or cheap looking. I just don’t know if I like the fake look. I mean, at least plastic isn’t pretending to be anything.
