I’m seriously considering getting a vented hood for my beloved Z. I narrowed it down to the legendary MCR hood and the Seibon TS HR hood. The MCR hood will cost $2200 CAN vs the Seibon $1600 CAN price tag. All the prices include shipping fees and duties. Unfortunately the MCR will take 6 months vs the Seibon only taking about 4-6 weeks to arrive. Can anyone comment on the quality and fitment of these products?
I’ve included some pics of my Z from today. I feel either one of these hoods would be the cherry on top.

You've got a lot of nice authentic aftermarket parts on your Z. If you can swing it financially and can deal with the wait, MCR all the way. Definitely my favorite aftermarket hood for the Z33. Just my $0.02.
Seeing that you don't have a HR car may I suggest the Varis hood? Functional vents, although not as big as MCR. It's carbon like the Seibon with a similar price. The MCR only comes in FRP as far as I know.
Thanks for the suggestion. The Varis hood is really nice.
However I feel the Seibon and MCR will flow better with my Nismo V3 bumper. Also if I was to go with the Seibon I would paint it to match the color of the car and leave the vents in carbon fiber. Similar to the Z below.
Depends on your taste, for me the problem with the MCR is there are replicas on the market and everyone and their mother has one, too common. The Varis is rare and hard to come by, if you need any other angles to try to photoshop or something let me know. I think it'll look awesome, too much dead space in the front with HR hoods IMO.

I honestly don’t think there’s one authentic MCR hood in Canada. I’ve only seen a couple of Fly1 replicas.
I said what I had to say, I don't like stuff EVERYONE else has. That it the #1 hood found on Zs because of fly1. Looks good but I wouldn't use it on that premise alone.

I hear what you’re saying but the fly1 hood is almost as expensive as the MCR when you include shipping/duties to Canada. Most Z’s up here are running cheap CF hoods. The only other hood that I would consider is the ASM but the cost is just crazy.
I honestly don't know. I've just seen some running the MCR hood use the latch pins, but it definitely looks cleaner without them. I know the MCR hood is FRP but as long as there is some type of reinforcement where the stock latch is located, I would think it would be strong enough to not fly open and keep it shut. Maybe just cheap insurance?
I spoke with Bulletproof Automotive and they informed me MCR hood is 4 to 6 weeks out. Not sure who you're supplier is.
And... do you have this link to the Amuse hood? I'm assuming it's the vented one with 6 cut-outs, not the R34 Z-Tune hood style.

your bang on with the timeline if you ship by air. I found a new vendor that should get it to me in 6-8 weeks.
As an MCR owner I'd have to give you the thumbs up on your choice! It's FRP material, light and the heat pours out of it as you will see like at a stop light, drive up, etc. I ordered mine through Bulletproof and they were great to work with also. Good luck on it all.
