Talking Infinity speaker installation- check it out!

I guess the reason I put this in the "interior" section was because I did some extra modifications upon installation to allow me to use the Infinity grilles. I liked the infinity grilles much better than the stock ones (of course) --- they have nice silver trim rings that match the other silver accents of the interior of the car. Personally, I am very happy with the results....
Hope you like the pics!!

I think the speakers were about $90-100 through crutchfield- I think you can find them cheaper on ebay or elsewhere-- they were a gift.
After that, just some ingenuity and time--- I had to mount the speakers and grilles to the plastic rear "hump" piece- so the hardest part really was finding the right hardware for the job. I'm a prosthetist so I had a bunch of weird screws/nuts etc. around that worked well. Loctite at the end of course! Took about 1-2 hours total.

Did you both just replace the back speakers but still have the factory HU? How much of a difference did it make on the sound? TIA-
TB

Michla22
Where'd you put the crossovers and how did you wire in the speakers? Can you post a pic of your front speakers and did you replace the tweeters in the doors too?

Well I put the front crossovers in the door - velcro'd them on the inside. I did the same with the rear - just put them on the back of the metal inside the speaker hole - plenty of room. I ran new wiring for all of my speakers... I left stock wiring alone. Ran wire through the center console to get to the rear and ran the fronts throught the rubber gomets into the doors. And yes I replaced the stock tweters with infinity tweeters.

I'm definitely considering getting another set of 6002i for the fronts--- the rears are REALLY overpowering the stock fronts--- any suggestions Michla22-- Is that how your set up is??
Looks great!!
Thanks

I would go for another set upfront...the only problem i had was the tweeters were a little over powering at first - but with a little tunning that was easy to fix. Since you're running the coaxls it might not be an issue.
