Thumbs up tint please help

i want to tint my 350z---- i live in california, northridge i was wondering if anyone knew a TRUSTWORTHY AND RELIABLE tintshop in the los angeles county?????

also this is what i know of tints so far-
1. get 3m or lumar
2. get metallic so the tint doesn't fade to purple
3. get the back window in one full piece instead of sections

is that all the info i should know????

also when the tint is complete how do i check for the quality of craftsmanship?

thanks!!

I live in Georgia, so i don't know of any good LA tint shops, but i did just tint my Z and it turned out great. Get mettalic tint and tint it at 18%. Legally your only suppose to tint it 35%, but cops don't really care. Good Luck!

I concur...

I got my tint done at California tint as well. I drove up all the way from San Diego and those guys had friendly service and were able to get me out of there in no time...no b.s. They've done plenty of Z's and are quick about it. Very reasonable prices. Ask for Peter.

I did the Quantum titanium 28% all around like the 7 series Bimmer they have parked up front.
It's a very interesting tint since in the daylight it shifts so you can see inside at some angles but other angles you don't see jack! Cool thing is the only thing you can see in the hatch is the Strut bar with the letter "Z". It's a very nice touch.
Look at the 7 series when you get there...you'll know what I'm talking about.

At night you can see out of it perfectly because the film acts like micro/nano blinds.

Heres a pic of it at a reflective angle...(it's not cheesy mirror tint by the way...that's just an illusion at this angle)

They're going to tell you not to roll up the windows for a few days and try parking it in the sun for the drying application process to speed up.

After that, check the tint carefully to see if theres any air pockets or bubbles. If it looks like smooth glass throughout then you're golden!

California Tint has a lifetime warranty on their tint so you shouldn't have any problems at all. Just take it back if you see flaws.

BTW: I never planned on getting tinting for my car...I thought it'd be too dark in the cabin and I didn't want to get pulled over. After getting it done I wonder, "How the F#@$ did I ever go without it??"
Definitely love it and one of the most worthwhile mods I've done to my car so far.

Actually, you should leave em up and lock em. My buddy actually hit the "roll down" button on the way down to SD. Needless to say, I freaked out but it was fine. It's just good not to roll the windows up and down while it's trying to dry. Rolling the window down will cause the tint to move off allignment or peel.

and btw...good call.
