Default Front ended by a Mustang!

Man getting out of paid parking lot today, this oblivious lady in red Mustang backed into my front end at < 5 mph. She came out apologizing saying her tire was on the curb and didn't look before she backed up. Front end sustained some scratches where the license plate would be (except I don't have a front one); not obvious unless close up like 12 inches; no dents. What do you guys think, should I get it repainted or is it even worth the trouble? Just don't have time to drop off my car for a week just to repaint a patch; plus it'll cost her like 500 bucks to repaint the front fender.

I'd take photos to show except my digital camera sucks and won't pick up these scratches... Damn only had this car for a few months too.

Take the money that is offered from her car insurance and "fix" your bumper at your leisure. You'll probably have to get some estimates, which will be time out of your day. Sorry to hear bro.

if an adjuster comes out to look at the bumper, may want to enhance the damage with your foot. that way they pay you for a new bumper and repaint.

you get... a new bumper, and a repaint. what bumper is up to you, but atleast the repaint should be better than factory.

That's what I did. Some lady side swiped my right rear quarter (on the bumper though). It went down to the plastic, but I never bothered to fix it so I just kept the money.

About a year later (still not fixed), some guy rear ended me at <5 mph and only the clear coat scratched. I'm never going to get my bumper fixed because something will happen to it again (my friend has had his bumper scrapped 3 times and got it fixed everytime with insurance, so f'kn stupid if you ask me). By the way, I just put touch up paint on it and it looks a lot better.

Ummmm....are you sure you want to be giving illegal advice? Insurance fraud is no joke....

BTW- They're pretty good a figuring out what was caused by the accident and what wasn't...

I have like 9 deep scratches and a small dent on my DB Z.

I've been unlucky because I didn't see anyone do any of the damage. The scuff with the scratches appeared there one day on my bumper. The scratches on my hood appeared there also, and same with the dent.

Two of the scratches start up on the hood closet to the passenger side fender, and if you follow the line down towards the front center of my hood the two scratches continue there. I try to ignore it now, but it's really frustrating when people scratch my car and never let me know. Some of the scratches could be from rocks, but the other ones are obviously not from nature/weather. They are there because people don't watch what they're doing.

Default thanks

everyone for your input.

actually i just got out some scratchx from maguiler's and buffed out the scratches, they weren't all that deep and but there are a few remaining ones.

didn't feel right to report it and get some money off of it.

unfortunately, i figure that's part of driving a car in the city; at least i caught the culprit and she apologized.

I was born and raised in the City and NO, it is not acceptable under any means. When such a thing happens and you have the opportunity for reparation, you should take it. Too many people get away with this sh|t, shouldn't mean that you can't have nice things.
