Ok, so I misjudged the curb as I was parking today and scraped part of my lip. I'm thinking touchup paint from my local Nissan dealer should do the trick, right? Someone suggested getting a shop to repaint the area, which is about 5 inches across. I really don't want to go that route if the touchup paint will do.

i think u should get it painted,
then to re-assure something like that doesnt happen again, i would get a diamond plate (paint it black 2 match ur color scheme) and put it underneath (like a front diffuser(sp?)), and to dress it up and make it look better u could put carbon fiber on the top of the diamond plate...
i hope this sounds like the idea i have...

ya lost me too, but i also scraped my V1 lip on a snow bank in the winter...I have the fiberglass so the touch up paint gets absorbs into the material, with urethane it will be easier. I just put layer after layer and it looks a lot better than the white grooves did, no one notices it anymore...I thought about having the repaint also but I realized I'd rather just not stress it b.c. you know that its going to scrape, get rock chips, etc...
if the scratch isn't deep, i would just try to wet sand, touch up paint, went sand, paint .... until it looks nice, then buff it out.
as you apply layers of touch up, move up to finer grit sand paper. probably start around 1000 grit and move upto 2500 grit.

OUCHIE...happend to me once...thought the curb was low enough and SKRREEETCHH. Now no matter how tall or low a curb is, I stop WAY before it. I'm kinda worried about clearance over speedbumps and stuff once I get my Ings half kit front on.

Have you thought about getting a couple of layers of the "clear bra" material on the leading edge of the lip. Two or three layers to a cut line might work like a helmet faceplate tear-off and save a lot of repainting. Anyone tried this?
I say just touch it up with some paint.
You're looking at inevitable rock/ gravel dings from here on out and it'd be a shame to have it painted again so soon.
If you look at my lip closely(had it since beginning of this year) you'll see all sorts of dings here and there.
I'll eventually get my repainted but for now if touch up can work then it'll have to do.
Good luck.
