Angry HID install - serious help needed

First off I bought this kit from Zred who use to frequent this site. He mentioned he was going to install it for me but after I bought it he never responded again.

So I tried to install it myself. But with the instructions I had I couldn't do it. I took some pictures maybe you guys can help me what to do. Or give me pointers.

BTW I did take off the front bumper and the lights. (all that work for nothing) but that part will be alot easier the 2nd time.


Ok here are some pics. This is a Hella kit.

I did receive 2 ballasts, 2 bulbs, and a crap load of wire I don't have a clue what to do with.

See if any of you can help me with this. I would really appreciate it.

damn, wish i could help, TriX. that sucks that you got left out to dry. maybe a good stereo shop would have a clue (?)....

I don't understand what that smaller blue wire is doing there. My kit didn't have it, but I heard from Yobri that some kits have to be grounded to the car. You should try PM'ing member ImportHookup.com and ask him (John) what to do. He knows a lot about varying HID kits.

Chuck: not your fault. i am little pissed at the asswipe that sold me these and then said oh sure i'll install them. that is pretty much the only reason i bought them otherwise i would have waited and gotten an easy install kit.

save $ 20 and in the end it will end up costing me 400 because i'll end up buying a new kit where i could have put that to a new spoiler that i wanted.

I just saw the new pics you posted and that looks like way too much wiring. I have no idea what some of those parts are, but it looks used???

yeah thanks nimsmo i actually tried using your instructions but your kit was alot different. i will pm him.

there is also another member who bought a kit from zred. i will show him this thread.

any help would be appreciated guys. i really don't want to spend another 400 on a kit.

I know ImportHookup.com was selling different wiring harnesses for other HID kits that Yobri asked for. If it comes down to you not being able to install it, just sell it on Ebay. I'm sure you'll get over $300 easily.

it was a used Hella kit with philips HID bulbs. that is what i was told at least. it cost 360.

i might try that. i did send 2 pms to jun and importhookup i will wait a couple of days. if no one can help i will try that. thanks nismo its a start. lol

i got this one figured out.. atleast i think.

:EDIT:

ok... here are some pics and an explanation, as good as i can
from the pictures.










ok...

Take the connector labeled 1 (green tape) and connect it to the
connector labeled 9 (green tape). As you can see they both have
a blue and black wire going into the terminal.

Take connector 2 (yellow wire) and connect it to 5 (yellow wire)

Take connector 3 (red wire) and connect it to 6 (white wire).

The thing labeled 4 (from what i can tell from the pictures) just
connects the black wire coming from the bulb to the blue wire.
From what i can see, it is not a terminal, if it is let me know.

Now, connect 7 (blue wire from bulb) to 8 (blue tape from wire
cluster. From what I can tell, these two fit.

The thing labeled 10 is just a relay that should be secured
somewhere close to the headlamp, away from water and near
the ballast with the connected metal tab. Something i just
realized, the metal tabs are the ground, i'm fairly sure. So make
sure that the metal tabs coming off of the relays are tightly bolted
down to a spot that has a good metal connetion. You might need
to find a bolt somewhere in the engine bay and scrape some
paint out from under the washer.

Now, the two wires labeled 11 and 12 are connected to seperate
fuse holders, so they are the positive leads from the battery. My
fog light kit had the exact same setup for positive lead. The two
metal circle tabs should be securely connected to a strong positive
lead from the battery, preferably right on the terminal or the lead
battery cable. I did this with mine and I have had 6 months with
no trouble what so ever.


For a 17 year old that has never done an HID kit, I think that this
is pretty accurate. If it doesn't work, make sure you check the
fuses. I rewired some lights on my truck one time before i
checked the fuse (which was blown). It will save you a headache.
I hope that helped you out man. If i have some of the parts
falsely identified let me know and i'll see what i can figure out.

Where do you live? Maybe we can crack this thing down together (using mine as a demo, since i don't have it in the car but i remember where all the wires go).

#11 & #12 go directly to the battery. I didn't have to do this because i got my power directly from the stock harness. Somehow you have to connect it to your stock harness in order for the lights to know when you turn them on/off.

Jun, good point. lol. if you hook those up straight to the battery, they will stay on 24/7. 11 and 12 have to be hooked up to the switched headlight connector somehow... mmm *stratches chin*
i'm sure if i had a Z i could find this out by walking outside but since i dont, i'll just try to help as much as possible. Trix, np man.
