Default 55w HID vs OEM 35w HID

As we know, the 03-05 OEM hid are not that great. So after numerous research, I have decided to install the 55w HID kit from DDM (http://www.ddmtuning.com/hidkihidbuhi.html). I choose the 5000k D2R bulbs, but I think it might be better with the 6000k bulbs (color wise). Anyway, here are the before and after pics. I am very satisfied, and will recommend this kit to anyone.

35w OEM HID 4300k

55w DDM HID 5000k

Nice! Half the price of what I paid for mine, and I thought I got a good deal. Where are these made?

not sure, but it says DDM on the housing. I believe it's made by APEXCONE (http://www.apexcone.com/). Probably made in China

It does have "lifetime warranty" though..

It's not a direct plug-in, you have to disconnect the OEM plug and wire it to the DDM kit. The kit does not come with wire adapter, so you'll have to connect(splice) it yourself. If you want the real bright blue color, you can probably choose 8000k or 10000k D2R bulbs.

Damn. Is it hard to install? I have a base model 350z so mine didn't already come with HID's. Would it be harder for me to install if I were to get the same kit that you did?

no, not hard at all. There was a plug going into the OEM Ballast. I removed the plug and cut the ends to connect to the new Ballast wires (Black&Red). Just remove the factory D2R bulb and install the new bulb.

I also drill a small hole on the end cap, that seal the light fixture, so the bulb wire can go through. Just silicon it afterward.

I noticed that too. But the bulb is good, and no damange to the lens, etc. After I installed the 55w ballast and new bulb, the passenger side looks normal. Not sure what caused it or if that's normal..

I don't think there's a plug&play 55w HID kit for 350z. You have to wire it in somehow. I didn't take any pictures during my install, but it's not too hard to DIY. Maybe someone sell a plug&play kit for 350z?

You can buy the aftermarket kit from here: http://www.ddmtuning.com/hidkihidbuhi.html

Should of taken both bulbs before, both bulbs after, and a picture further away from the garage. Cutoff/sharpness on the 03-05 headlights sucks.

Hello friends, I sell the plug & play conversion kits at www.sagahid.com 1 year warranty, Im an Brightstar authorized distributor with 1 year full warranty. I have 5K, 6K, 8K and 10K. Have D2R bulbs only to replace oem and the conversion kit H7 for hi-beams. 5K and 6K will light more than oem 4200K due to white color and of course, being a brand new bulb. Keep in mind that (for comparison purposes) HID bulbs loose intensity with time.

55w arent ilegal, they are designed for euro cars. Those cars cpu detect any change in electrical system and turn on service light on dash. I recommend to all you that do not trash your money with 55w kits. Thanks, www.sagahid.com
