Moving to Japan, need suggestion for a good car...
I will be moving to Japan in a few months. I would like to know what are your suggestions on a used car there. Not looking for anything expensive. Maybe <$10k. I heard cars are dirt cheap there. Silvya, Skyline, etc.. hell I've heard Toyota and mitsu ain't too bad either.
Thanks

god bless jdm land first and foremost . now if i could get a good, reliable car in japan id have to pick a r32 skyline gts or gtr. gtrs might be a bit more expensive but all the more awesome. i actually have heard that r33s are cheaper than r32s in japan. but get a skyline, and take pictures

When and where are you going to be there?
My wifes father owns a Dealership in Japan, so I could probably help you get something for a good price.
As far as up to the 10K range you'll have a lot of options.
The Skylines below were a bit over 10k, around 13k but they were pretty done up, both were 600whp

Godzilla, those definitely look like top choices.
I was going to go with a new car, but I think since I'm not bringing back to the states(at least that's what the plan is) I should go with a nice looking beater. I'll be in Misawa Japan for 3 years.
I'll definitely send you a pm later on and see if you can have your wife's daddy-0 work out a deal with me. Thanks.
One more thing, IF I was to bring it back to the states, would I HAVE TO change the steering wheel to the Left side? I've searched on google for the info. Can't find anything on it. I know about the emissions, no way around that.

If your going over for military, you should consider bringing a car over there, plus you can get good money if you bring the right car over.. Me personally I would bring a tricked out harley
Also, dont quote me on this but, if memory servers me right there is some flaw that allows military people to bypass some of the restrictions on getting a car legal.

Wow, thanks for the links Godzilla, definitely gonna come in handy. There are some exceptions for military, and I have heard of people bringing their vehicles to the states, but there's a lot of b.s. you have to deal with.
BTW
Do these have prices?

898= 89k
Its actually cheaper than 89k but I just do a $1 to 100yen conversion (its easier to remember)
At the mometn the cheapest R34 GTR on that site is around 25k
