Wired 24/7 is willing to write a FAQ if it will get stickied. An excellent source of info for exhausts. superchargers, and turbo's can be found be getting a copy of Sport Z magazine and their shootout issues. Just about anyone on the forum that's been here longer than a few months probably knows that a CAI will have minimal gains on a Z and the best thing for a G would be a Z tube. The typical problems with the Z's should be included too (tire feathering, tranny problems, brake dust/squealing, grease streaks, rattles...etc) We should include things like this in the FAQ and require all new members to check it out.

Completely agree. So asking the question is not going to get them the "right" answer, right? However, searching and reading all of the posts with the pro and cons of that certain exhaust, advices for others, problems had with it, etc... is going to reveal a lot more information that would most likely help them make up your mind..

Personally, I've always found it more interesting, more informative and learned more researching a subject then just having the "right" answer handed to me.

I agree with the FAQ sticky. However, i would not put things in there that are constantly being changed or improved. (ie: exhaust, springs, sways, cai 's) just my .02

Can we have a "Stupid Members will get banned" banner too? Or a "If you don't use the search function for you CAI/Exhaust/FI post, you will get banned" banner? Any moron with a PC and 56k modem can educated themselves beyond belief searching my350z, the problem is they don't want to commit the time to read, they want to post a question and have the answer in a matter of minutes.

It's funny most of the people complaining joined recently. What? You don't like using the search function? You just want your answers handed to you on a silver platter with no work done on your behalf? Read the damn posts, see what other people have done, read some more, PM some members with the mods you have a question about, if that doesn't satisfy your quest for knowledge THEN post a new thread.

Hraesvelg rather than reply just report it and we will take a look at it.
All the admins and mods will get a report of the post. A suggestion was made that may help prevent some unwanted posts

Your example (not your post) looked like a stupid question to me. Could've been me, since I didn't even understand what was being asked.

Stupid questions IMO are questions like "will the turbonator really give me 50HP more" or "Should I tripple clutch when street racing". Questions that have been answered like 100 time before also look pretty stupid questions to me, since the asker could have gotten an answer way faster by just searching.

Everyone's standard is different.
So what if someone who is totally new to an issue?? He will ask questions that you guys considered as common sense.
And then he will be flamed..

Ya, but your point of teaching people to use the search button is an good idea..
Maybe there should be a page teaching people how to use the search button during their registration in this forum.

I am not sure what the point of this thread is thus I do not know what exactly a "meaningless reply" would be as you stated. Are you just seeking everyone to simply agree with you that people make fun of other people on this forum or are you seeking to have a debate on if someone should ever tell another person to do a search?

If you have a technical question regarding a 350Z, I among other would be happy to answer it for you to the best of our abilities.
Im still a student.
Im transferring to UCLA, and I think I will have a very bright future.
Im not a native speaker, so I am sorry for my grammatical errors.
BTW, its just a forum, Im not writing an essay or something important. Isnt it ok as long as you understand what Im saying??

Im not aiming anything particular, I just hope every person here can respect all others. That's it. I want to keep it simple.

^^+1. I think too many people post w/o first searching for an answer. Most of the technical questions that you may have most likely are already answered or talked about extensively. If the search function does not yield u any answers, then your question is more than welcome to be shared by others who may have the same type of question. I'm not a "braveheart" member but I usually ignore so called "noob question".

Thank you Sho-Time. I'm sure you share the frustration when you see a thread topic that's been beaten to death.

I can understand several threads when the subject is new (remember all the tire feathering threads that came out soon after members got their hot off the press Z's?). But when it's be covered to death and THEN a new thread gets posted on it, you're going to get flamed.

when a newbie (including myself) posts ONE question, there are usually 10-15 "use the search" replies...Well, 1:15 ratio. wondering why newbies keep posting the same Qs? because it is hard to find the answers with all those "use the search" replies filling up the screen...

Maybe we should put a thread teaching people how to search.
Put it somewhere people can see it..

Maybe underneath the "Disrespectful Members will get banned"

If you used the search feature in the first place this wouldn't be a problem.
