Default The people in this forum is so....

I have been to many forums.
But many people in this forum sucks.
I still come here because it really has lots of information, but I dont even want to post things up here.

When there is newbie seeking for help, what does he/she get back??
Its all jokes people making fun of him..

Here is an examples.. I have seen so many in here..
https://my350z.com/forum/2003-2009-nissan-350z/197051-downshifting.html

They came here is for informations, not for jokes..

I have been to a honda accord forum. Even there is very less people, the moderator tried their best to help people who got question instead of making fun of them.

I want to know why?? Is it most people driving 350z is cocky?

I hope everyone here knows how to respect people, and dont waste their time on posting meaningless replies...

its very true and its kinda annoying. I feel like sometimes there a popularity rule here kinda like high school is. I understands the moderators KNOW there is a problem, its just hard to enforce it, especially when the premier members pay for the site.

I don't understand why it is hard to just ignore those repeated threads rather than spending 30 seconds reading it + 10 seconds to post a reply.

I was flamed a while back for no reason too, and it did leave me with bitter thoughts, and prompted me to think about why I still used this forum...I too have been to other forums, and they are usually WAY more inviting and fun. (read: ziptied.com) But I do learn a lot here, and tune out the people so bored they feel the need to flame like Mr.Seacrest... So just ignor 'em...
Have a nice day everyone, back to work!

Ok, I'd agree with you, but anyone asking:

"Should I just slow down a little then shift to a lower gear and pressing the brake while releasing the clutch?"

Should be open for flames.

REPOST! Damn, this is just bunch of noobs b1tching about nothing. JK

Just ignore those people. You'll understand why they do it sooner or later though. They're not kidding when they say it's literally the 100th thread with the same question. Ignoring them will usually solve the problem. There are plenty of nice people here too

I feel you Hidehide. After owning both a Cobra and Camaro SS in the past, I recently purchased a 350Z. You can imagine I am not the most knowledgeable about imports so I come to this forum for information and ideas on what to do to my car. It is unfortunate that just because you accumalate 10,000,000,000 threads you all of sudden need to talk s#*t!

Yeah, people on this forum have a very bad attitude.

(very)General rule of thumb: The people with the avatars with the blue paint on their faces are *******s. Ignore them.

I try and help people who come to my area of knowledge which is car audio.

I will say that for every bad experience I have had on this forum I have had at least 1 good one.

HideHide I think you beter Hide because the BraveHearts will be coming to get you now...

Come on man, have you read the post you used as an example. "Ask a stupid question, get a stupid reply".

People get help if they post genuine questions, even -or should I say especially- from the "blue faces".

RANT

They try to educate people to use the search function, and go after trolls who put up lame-a$$ questions and posts. Do you have any idea how frustrating it is to wade through all those non-sense posts to get to the real posts, the posts that are worth the attention? I mean the posts of people that DO need help with a problem that hasn't been discussed yet or the posts with usefull information? How would you like it if you had a question and it wouldn't be answered because it got lost in a sewer full of hashed and rehashed questions that could all have been answered using the search function. Do you realise those lazy babies that repost rhe same old questions over and over again would have an answer to their question far quicker if they would only search in stead of waiting for someone to come along and bottle-feed them the answer?

No, just because somebody asks a question that you find too simplistic there is no reason or justification for flaming them. This site has over 60,000 registered members that cover a wide range of "car smarts". Everybody can't be an expert or expected to know all the ins and outs of the Z.

Rather than flaming those that you consider below yourself for asking the "stupid" questions, you should be trying to help educate them and bring them up to your own level.

You think this forum is bad, none of you would last a second at off-topic.com
Anyways...
The original poster needs a grammar lesson, other than that, however... He's got a point.
You gotta overlook it, some people are elitist, some aren't. I posted a thread a while back chastising people for Ferrari syndrome over Rota vs Nismo wheels... Some people are just label ****** and stuck up. That tends to happen with more expensive cars. Try a Viper forum or a Prosche forum and see what happens, it's the same ****. You don't see it on Honda tech, because not many people there have as much money, or simply don't care about the "name" of a company, just as long as thier products produce results.

Danny..

How do you define "stupid question"?
Everyone's standard is different.
So what if someone who is totally new to an issue?? He will ask questions that you guys considered as common sense.
And then he will be flamed..

Ya, but your point of teaching people to use the search button is an good idea..
Maybe there should be a page teaching people how to use the search button during their registration in this forum.

That's funny because I've found the opposite, I find this forum to have much less flaming and bickering and whatnot, compared to other forums i've been on.

but I've also found it to be less informative.

If there is a repost, would be helpful to just post a link to the original or similar post. I find that the search engine on this forum is not great. I may have read something a month ago, and when I want to find it again it seems impossible, unless I accidentally stumble across it. Other than that, this forum has helped me decide on suspension, wheels and how to fix certain problems.

maybe compared to other random forums, but compared to Z forums it is by far the worst when it comes to flaming! I stay here simply because it is the most active, and sometimes can be very informative..
