please explain the logic of why flaming is needed. I would like to hear your point of view.

ok. well. here it goes.

Either you come here to look for information/solutions for your 350z since this is a 350z forum, Or you can stick around and just be a regular and talk about whatever. If you seem that you don't like how the people are acting, you don't have to participate. You can still use this forum as a tool for all of your 350z needs.

Most of these people who make smart remarks, they are being sarcastic. Most of the time, you won't know because you can't hear their tone of voice over the internet. A lot of people are over sensitive and take it the wrong way very quickly. You just need to relax. It's just the internet.

When people get flamed for a new question, most of the time, it's needed. There are sticky threads on top of the pages for newbies. It will answer a lot of questions that new people are asking. That's the reason why they are flammed. When you make a new topic, it even says at the top of the page in bold letters " DO A SEARCH BEFORE POSTING". This website has been open since 2002, anything these new people are asking , it can be found doing a simple search. If it's more technical, then no problem. But these "what's the best exhaust for HP and sound" are just stupid and taking up precious space on this forum. Extra non needed space equals slower site and more money to run.

There are so many threads where noobs do get flammed and they actually say "thanks" and start using the search button. That's where i see how flamming is good sometimes. I know a person doesn't want to get flammed twice.

Back when i joined, i got flammed. It helped me. All i do is search if i need something. These people here are not assh0les, they are just more informed about the 350z. I feel the same way about myself. I know a good deal about this car where it makes me feel overconfident sometimes. Just note that people on here dont' like flamming, they just do because of stupid posts. I can find you over 10 dumb threads if you like. Maybe even 100 just to prove a point. And then you tell me why flamming is needed.

I appreciate your reply, thank you.

I agree, some of the time they are being sarcastic, and sometimes not. I'm a sarcastic person at times, I almost always know when someone is being playfully sarcastic, and when they're being a blatant @sshole. I'm definatly not oversensitive here at my350z.com. Everyone is oversensitive about something, so yea, some people may be oversensitive here. Someone might just be having a bad day, and you push them over the edge. So sarcasm and oversensitivity, yea, I see your point, but I dont think that is the answer.

So you were a noob once! haha! LOSER. jk You were flammed and it helped you. It helped you by being afraid of being flammed. Thats like punching someone in the face instead of talking to someone. Violence is always last resort, so should flamming. An occasional flame I can see, but when 50% or more of the posts in most of the threads are flame, its a little overboard.

So someone makes a post thats a repost, we punch em in the face, maybe they wont do that again, getting punched in the face hurts. Yup, it HURTS. Its just an analogy, so dont get to caught up in it, we mentioned oversensitivity already.

Flaming isnt nessesary. Does it work, yea. Is it the best way. I dont think so.

well, i wasn't afraid of being flammed, i just got their point by searching. I just didn't know how to use the search engine on this site correctly. A member Pm'ed me on how to use it.

True, i agree it should be the last resort but when a member responds by saying " Look it up in the top 100 questions" that's not flaming. Then the original poster comes back and says "if you couldn't tell me the answer, why post?" ....that's just dumb. He didn't get flammed but he's not going to get everything handed to him on a pedestal. People are getting to lazy these days.

The OP seems like a genuine person. I'll cut him some slack this time...

There are a lot of people on here who show NO compassion what so ever. Even if someone does make a mistake, do they really need you to tell them how stupid they are? Wouldnt it be better to be constructive with your comments? Whats the point of flaming? Isn't there enough BS in this world? I go to forums to learn, and honestly, it makes me sad to see all of the negativity here. Ive been on this site for two months now, and there are some great people on here, there are also alot of jerks. I could just leave the forum, Ive thought about it. What would be better is if maybe I could help people understand. Hey, it may be a long shot, but its worth a try.
