Default Turbonetics single turbo questions

I am seriously considering purchasing this kit and I was wondering if anyone knows what is included with it. I've been to the Turbonetics site and I dont see any mention of it. Is there some kind of fuel / timing controller included with it or do you have such a device added separately?

I think that an ECU reflash takes care of that stuff but Im not sure. You may want to try reading the HUGE thread about the kit on here or try PMing MIAPLAYA for answers.

The kit bring a box to put your ECU (shipping included) to send it to Technosquare to reflash... the kit also have 380 injectors... all you need is in the kit, You don't have to buy anything else... well the only thing I recommend you buy are the guages

you can find some vendor info here!

When will this kit be available?

Just curious, how much does this kit weigh in comparison to other units?

Not sure on weight. I guess it should be less due the weigth of the TT turbo manifolds and two turbos. Can't be sure. Kits will be shipping in beginning of Jan.

One more question. Does anyone know if you have to punch a hole in the oil pan for the oil return from the turbo, or has Turbonetics devised a different oil drainback setup?

You do have to tap your oil pan for the oil return but if you wanted to with the current street price at ~4700 you could drop another ~$400 and get the PE/ APS/ or ARC oil pan that has a spot for the tap already. Or even you could get the JWT oil pan spacer and tap that...your choice.

We will be taping the spacer between the pan and block.

Do you think I could run into any longevity problems with either the kit or with my base engine if I install it on my daily driver? I normally drive about 1200-1500 miles per month. Is their any chance of overheating while on a 150-200 mile road-trip?

I would say not based on current info. Turbonetics has made a few 2-3 hour road trips from their shop to SD area for car shows etc and havent had a single problem. I will be keeping everyone updated on mine as well...
