Welcome back Peter! And thanks to both you and Phunk for researching all this.

The code says it is for unusually high voltage, I was getting a new knock sensor to replace it when I did the fuel return system just in case it was the sensor but now with all of the talk on wiring I wander it that is it, specially since it probably has renedered the J&S knock sensor retard useless.

The code was there before TT install.
Well since no one acknowledged my off topic comment I have been thinking, could it be the UR pulley or the lightweight flywheel that since they are not dampened they could be causing the knock sensor to read too much and casuing the fault.

The problem is that since it doesn't through the CEL but just store a code no one will see it unless they read the codes.

About the crank and cam wires that Phunk will be producing....

Does anyone see the slightest possibility that you would actually need to adjust your engine tuning by simply installing these??

I would think not but wanted some opinions. Just being a worry-wart.

Thanks

No need to alter any tuning parameters. This just replaces the existing cable with a better shielded one. Same signal, same data, no effect on tuning.

keeping this crank angle wire a secret makes it seem like some of the sponsers here just want to make money and not offer any help.

"oh your engine blew up with a perfect tune? that's too bad you should've bought my kit instead "

Not sure who you are referring to with sponsors....but let the blame rest where it belongs. If you put out a kit and call it "safe and complete" maybe you should do the research and developement to back your product and your claim up.
I feel pretty well informed about the issue your referring to by reading this forum and by reading a write up on the APS website. So this issue is far from secret nor is the solution. Phunk is offering a shielded wire if you already have a kit that does not provide one. If you have not picked up a kit yet...really don't see why you would buy a kit from a manufacturer that is not addressing the issue. Maybe this anomoly is "over played" because it has not been established how many cars out there are truely effected by it. I suppose this issue could also be responsible for many people in the past blowing rods their their block. Who knows? I am glad the issue has come to light along with a solution.

I have big discounts at work from Arrow, Newark, Eutex, Hughes and many other big electronics/wire vendors. I know the GB is already on, but if you want me to get a roll of it I can get a much better price than any individual/small company will.

Thanks!

Last time Charles and I talked, the plugs were just a week away or so. I think we are very close!

How did you find the write up about the crank angle sensor wire on the APS website? I looked around but can't find it. I guess I'm a real dufus today. This is the website I looked at:

Thanks for your help.

I know most people here are looking for performance gain, but I am looking to get my shaky idle back to normal. I just cant stand the idea of paying for a 30K car and not get a smooth idle at all, its like RX-7 all over again. When is the wire going to be ready? I want to order one
