my donor motor just got here today...al my parts are here..let the rebuilding begin!!!
i should be back driving in 2-3weeks, like a grandma for the breakin period, then 3 weeks or so later...install aam fuel system, bigger injectors, and tune for 450rwhp (actual)...then i'm gonna play it safe for a while before re-tuning it to 550rwhp...
any ideas on any more safety precautions?...do u think the knock sensor thingy is necessary? anyone?

sweet logo..I like it! Change it to blown engine club and I think we have a winner. That way, it covers those that blew headgaskets and rings as well!

Ernie, I agree completely. I run a seperate boost gauge, since i find it hard to read the eo1 when you are going WOT and monitoring everything else.

Also, a wideband AF guage is really the key to avoiding a lean condition...not necessarily boost.

Hey maybe we should have a ribon to support these guys... can some one design one to put on our Z's? now that would be Cool. Driving down the highway and as two Zs pass they notice a support the Blowen Engine Club ribbon.

Every one of your posts is about how great AEBS is. Royce, I hope you're getting paid for this. Seriously.

Good work, but can be slow at times. Not sure if that has changed recently...but until someone posts a TRUE 2 week turnaround like they have promised people..I wont really believe it. Sorry...just being honest.

Sorry...just being honest. Gurgen is having his motor sleeved with them, and then have promised a sub 2 week turnaround time. if they deliver..I will certainly be a true believer!!

I don't have any problems with AEBS, I just think it's hilarious that Royce acts like their paid mouthpiece.

10 days is impressive, I'm glad they were able to supply the engine so fast. Hopefully it works out well for him.

Given that I unfortunatel yhave a lot of experience at this, let me tell you what I would do.

1) Pull the bad engine first. See if you can reuse the crank and heads.

2) If so, just buy a brand new block (or a used block).

3) I would jsut stick with the stock size (3.5 L) and get the pistons/rods/studs. Sleeve if you are planning on spraying on top of the 18-20psi of boost you are planning to blow (I am sure).

4) PM me with your phone number if you wish. I don't mind helping out a fellow G/Z owner.

BTW... I do have a set of pistons that arias provided me with to recoup the costs from the slight misdesign they originally had going.... So, I am selling those, and they will be available this week. I need the money...let me know...

Gurgen

Again, I feel for you....sorry for your loss

that's only because i have first hand experience with them. i find it funny that you don't any personal experience with them nor do you have a clue about engines in general, yet you still feel compelled to throw around your opinion about them. but fine, i won't say another word about them, they certainly don't need my help.

Not sure yet, but thinking of selling the GReddy TT kit and just doing basic mods. I'm already tired of the time wasted on this and now have to deal w/ a blown engine. As much as I love the power and sound of the BOV I do want reliability and no trouble like this down the line. I can do the internals thing but that's more money down the drain. I got my car one Jan 04 drove it until Oct and started the TT install, drove it for hr in Jan and now back to the same situation of no car. If I sell my TT kit is there anyone interested??? Probably has like 1 hr of use on it.

I'm glad you have personal experience with AEBS and you're happy with their work. Anecdotal evidence (for what that's worth) says that they're a good engine builder, although somewhat busy at times.

You're correct in saying that I don't have personal experience with AEBS, and that's why I don't express an opinion either way. I'm not sure why you think I do.

I'm also unsure how you determined that I don't "have a clue about engines in general," but if you wish to carry that opinion, I don't have a problem with it. I tend to disagree, but.. to each his own. I don't derive any of my self esteem by impressing people on the internet.

You know what's funny, GReddy said that no one has complaint about anybody blowing an engine on stock out the box kit.

Sorry to hear your blown engine. Hope you get back up and running soon.

I also have the E-01 and the boost reading is fairly consistent with my blitz boost gauge. As Sharif mentioned it might be a kinked line as the 2 bar map sersor is pretty good.
