Default Breaking in motor with turbos

I think my motor will be starting up real soon, maybe as soon as later this week. I was wondering if i should be concerned about any metal, from the initial start up, in the oil making contact with the ball bearings in the turbos. Are there any tricks to starting up a new motor with some new turbos? Maybe im jsut being too cautious.

ask your engine builder how they want you to break it in...everyone has their own methods

what turbos you got? I'd be careful if it's the Greddy TT kit w/o timing, I just blew up my G35 after installing and going for a test run. got a hole on the side of my engine now from it.

I recommend starting it up for 30-45 minutes and then draining and replacing the oil. This will flush out most all debris from the motor.

Enron is not working with a stock FI motor, he is referring to a newly rebuilt motor, the break in period, to insure evrything seals and goesa smoothly.

Metal is not going to reach the ball bearings. Remember, on every motor, the first thing that happens is oil is sucked up the pickup, it goes through the oil pump, then goes to the oil filter before it ever touches the engine. The filter will catch everything.

my tuner said today that my turbos visually looked very good, so i'm opting to not have them rebuilt...on another note, he showed me where i had shards of metal in my plenum

my new motor got here today, goes into the machine shop tomorrow...moving right along
