Default longevity of vortech setup

How many miles have all of you vortech owners racked up on your systems?
The only real problem I've read of while searching is belt slippage which can be fixed with a thicker gates belt. Any other issues? Any engine failures and if so what is the culprit?
Do you guys feel that this vortech unit could be left on the car for a long term period of time...(i.e. 2-3 years ? 50+k miles?) without any serious issues? I realize only time will tell, but I'm sure some of you owners have an idea.

thanks

Ive had the ATI unit and the Vortec is fairly simular in design. I believe the longevity of these types of SC are extremely long because they dont spin or reach tempertures as high as turbos. Of course they use different bearings and other mechanical parts. Just make sure they recieve proper lubrication and the belts are tenstioned correctly, they should last well over 100k miles of average use.

As for the life of the stock engine, the foremost is proper tunning. Use a Wideband O2 sensor, a good dyno, and the most important is an excellent tuner. He can make or break your new FI 350Z.

Some of the Maxima guys (VQ30) have been running a very similar Vortech setup for 5+ years, 100k+ miles without any serious issues, just the normal belt changes, etc.

*edit* Here's a direct quote from this thread
While I had my SC off the car I took a look inside. I wish I had my camera with me at the time. It looked absolutely pristine inside, with no discernible wear on the gear teeth, and no looseness in the bearings. I was amazed, since my blower has over 100,000 miles on it. I guess Mobil 1 changed every 3000 miles helped.

Resurecting this thread to see how many miles you Vortec owners are at now?
Any Problems?
Regrets?
Road experiences?

11000 miles with no major issues. Fuel line problem, and oil leak, all fixed early in life of blower.

16K+ miles in just over 1 year. Only issues have been minor... belt replacements due to slippage from wear and an easily addressed FMU issue where the washer was sticking inside the unit.
