Ya trust me if i could afford to do FI w/ Upgraded internals, i would... but put yourself in my shoes, even after all you know... If you could only afford a APS TT kit right now w/ installation... wouldnt you buy the APS TT Kit, keep it at stock boost, maybe litlle lower, and start saving for your forged internals?
Iam only 17 btw . So if anyone has an overpayed job for me, ill even call you Master. :P

wow...i'm impressed 17 years old!...i can understand your anxiety to install the kit..i felt the same way...with aps. prolly be safer than my situation....but the big WHAT IF????

if you blow your motor...do you have the forged internals to do the rebuild...a new block/ possibly new heads...and all the other accessories....the most important what if.....do you have the funds?????

imagine...life is great...driving down the road...fast a$$ twin tuboed car..then whoopss...what's that sound ..hmmm, my motor shut off...hmmm, hopefully it's not serious...hmmm, why is there coolant pouring on the street....awwww..panic sets in...WELCOMe...to the Blown Engine Club!!!

IT SUCKS...just watching out for ya...take it from your elders who have been there..hahaha

just make sure you have the funds and a back-up car for the 3-5 months..and the patience to wait so fu*&ing long to get your car back!

Iam hopeing if worst come to worst, if i do blow my engine, i will have money by then to buy Forged Internals, hey if things go my way, and i get my big pay check from da movie, i will have enough to buy Forged Internals, TT, and then some :P.
But right now, i cant even afford the TT kit itself yet, so no way i can afford both internals and TT.

Why are u surprised iam only 17? lol

and $60k is just getting settled in...more goodies to come...big brakes...tein edfc suspension...stereo/dvd player-full system...then we are approaching $70-75k...but it will beat most any supercar on the planet at that point!

ernie...keep putting those miles on...dyno day...5 days and counting

i see 450rwhp in your very near future (actual #'s, not sae...at the 12psi original tune, of course...much higher soon therafter!)

Think about this. 75% of people going forced induction DO NOT go inside the motor.
That's bull s**t for anyone to state your driving a time bomb by super charging or turbo'n your non forged motor.

All manufacterers know the limitations of the vehicles they provide FI kits for, and with further cautious diagnotics by the installer, post install ie, dyno/scan for a/f, boost and hp limitations. The end result is a 125 - 150 whp gain, safely. You push the envelope and you will blow it up, but the people that due should expect this or their just stupid because the info is there.

My advice to you on a light wallet....Upgrade suspension and get used to the car at it's limit. Install a dual exhaust with cold air intake and tire up grade. FI, big brakes after experience.

I won't ramble on here, email if you want to talk about built ups and racing, ................tripp

Authorized installer for : ATI , Vortech, Greddy.

in the case of the 350z...as u have seen here on the forums..at least half a dozen people blew motors on 5.6lbs of boost...another dozen have blown motors on less than 8lbs..the vq35 is one motor where extra safety precautions must be taken to prevent this,,,,as u know, i learned the hard way...had i known the great potential for the catastrophic engine failure, i would have done a complete rebuild at the time of the turbo install...i wasted my time and money having the tt kity installed, only running well for less than 2 months, then blowing up...and it blew while driving conservatively...

...so IMO, it is not "bulls**t", i know from very personal experience, and another large handful of people here would most likely agree...

my advice, don't go forced induction on THIS particular setup unless rebuilding the internals, and most importantly, lowering the compression ratio!

Quick question for SpeedDreams,
I know this may be too soon, but I was wondering if you could give me a ballpark figure for the Turbonetics Single Turbo Kit install (with tuning time also).
As far as the FI on the stock VQ, I think the biggest factor in blown up engines is the tuning (or lack thereof). I honestly believe that mid 300 hp levels with the proper timing retard and a solid, SAFE A/F ratio are quite fine for the VQ35.

I'd get into the "how much hp will the rods hold" discussion. But I think i'm going to save my little suprise for a couple of months and post my results.
