*PICS* 350zDCalb & going deep -engine updates-*PICS*
350zdcalb, what would be your suggestion for me, knowing that i cannot afford new internals for a bit. Would you just tell me to wait tll i can afford both? which would mean i wouldnt have a FI car for AWHILE... or just buy the APS TT kit when i can, and start praying it wont blow, and start savn for forged internals?
If you can't wait run real low boost w/ alot of time retarding still risky but it would work. Phunk has FCon running no internal upgrades. If you want to go really cheap route just change the rods, that's what busted on my ride. I wonder how many APS kits there are that blew? Is there any? I just know there's not as many APS compared to GReddy.

That's bull s**t for anyone to state your driving a time bomb by super charging or turbo'n your non forged motor.
All manufacterers know the limitations of the vehicles they provide FI kits for, and with further cautious diagnotics by the installer, post install ie, dyno/scan for a/f, boost and hp limitations. The end result is a 125 - 150 whp gain, safely. You push the envelope and you will blow it up, but the people that due should expect this or their just stupid because the info is there.
My advice to you on a light wallet....Upgrade suspension and get used to the car at it's limit. Install a dual exhaust with cold air intake and tire up grade. FI, big brakes after experience.
I won't ramble on here, email if you want to talk about built ups and racing, ................tripp
Authorized installer for : ATI , Vortech, Greddy.

If you are referring to my post where I said, 375 and ticking, I was talking about my breakin period. I just built up my motor and ticking down to the end of my breakin period, lol.

...so IMO, it is not "bulls**t", i know from very personal experience, and another large handful of people here would most likely agree...
my advice, don't go forced induction on THIS particular setup unless rebuilding the internals, and most importantly, lowering the compression ratio!

I know this may be too soon, but I was wondering if you could give me a ballpark figure for the Turbonetics Single Turbo Kit install (with tuning time also).
As far as the FI on the stock VQ, I think the biggest factor in blown up engines is the tuning (or lack thereof). I honestly believe that mid 300 hp levels with the proper timing retard and a solid, SAFE A/F ratio are quite fine for the VQ35.

"air the facts"
...is that some sort of threat...what do you mean.?..
you guys installed my kit...(BTW- you guys had it tuned to 7.5 lbs, when you told me it was 6lbs-because you based the psi reading off of the profec e-01, when it was later checked when i tuned my car, i was informed it had been at 7.5 lbs--> also explains why i was the ONLY one making 416 rwhp on 6lbs of boost in the world--because, i actually was not, just the "tune" you guys did was never checked against a mechanical boost guage)
so... i had the car tuned to another 1.5 lbs of boost, installed a timing harness to pull timing..and that's it....what is there to air???
the motor could not handle the forced induction, like so many others...like so many others that had great tunes...again, some get lucky...their internals hold up...others do not
no hard feelings
... the reason i CHOSE to take my car elsewhere is because of your guys' attitudes...like i was doing you guys a favor to give you business! i don't get it..think of me telling you this as a marketing tip..a no-charge consultation on better business management... just don't make that mistake with your next customer...
oh..and make sure next time you install a twin turbo kit on a 350z and you relocate the air bag sensor..make sure it is mounted vertically (so it will actually function properly)...mine, unfortunately was not given that consideration... that's scary!
good night buddy

VP's Import is a special blend and tough to find. There is a gas station that sells Trick 101 off of Juan Tabo, but that gas pales in comparision to VP's Import......
I am going to have to invest in a drum of this Elixar of the Gods....

MT, usually we stock VP 103 unleaded, sorry I'm out right now. In the mean time try Edwards Engines on 2nd ST.

reminder: this is a 350z forum (you have a neon)
"the track is for racers'
not sure what you are implying, when i went out to the dragstrip, that was my first time EVER racing in a straight line against the clock...and on street tires, i still ran 13.04 @ 114mph...i didn't think that was too bad for my first time there
i have much more experience on road coarse tracks..IMO, that is what REAL racing is about..going in a straight line gets a bit boring, after 5 runs, i was done...
we'll go on a road coarse sometime little MT, there is supposedly one in town, please let me know if you know where it is/ or what days it is open to whomever
Tripp: you can chime in too- you probably know the tracks preety well out here...and, from the looks of it, you will be at the 350z meet at jason's bar, so i'll see you then buddy!

Todd,
Your a piece of work, you insult me then want information.....????
For what it's worth, Sandia Motorsport Park is located south of I-40 and 9 mile hill. Very tight course and not very large, I think 1.65 mi.
FYI, forced inducted cars don't fair as well there as all motor does, not enough time to spool up. I believe M3 and Z06 have the fastest times there.
As I said, this is a demanding track. The last guy I went racing with pushed his 500hp Vette into the tires, 7K in repair.
The track is normally rented, Speed Dreams will have an event probably in late May or June there for the entire day. Details, classes, flyers and such will be available in the near future as we put the sponsorship list together.
I suggest asap after you get your car street worthy to upgrade your suspension..( Tien, JIC ) Also if you plan to play on the track big brake kit, trany cooler, wheels and tires...I have done my suspension first and It makes a huge difference.
So if your up to it, we will see you there, if I get track time sooner I will post date for those who would like to join.

This is how she looks as of earlier today...
the egt sensor is in place, tough to see in this pic...mounted in downpipe...helix test pipes going on

...radiator in...

aam fuel system all in place

from here, the hoses/intercooler piping goes in, exhaust gets all connected...fluids filled...and then IT'S ON!!!
friday...wishful thinking...saturday..possibly...early next week...should be starting to put miles on my car preparing for my dyno
