got my new rods in today
i took my engine apart knowing that i was going to get my rods and pistons in i bought crower billet rods and there is no little hole for the oil to run through is this normal? and what should i do?
The Pauter rods have one oil hole drilled into the small end. Some rods have that hole...and some dont. Thats why I really like the Pauter.
Also note, the Crower rods are not correctly designed for the VQ. So you have to have the machine shop notch the block for them to clear. I think some shops can also notch the rods.
Either way, they need to be modified in order to work without hitting the block.

Regarding the oil hole, I am not 100%, since I dont know when exactly the hole is drilled in the production process. I would check with your machine shop.
BTW, the Crower rods are excellent rods...so no worries...just get the block notched and you'll be fine. Your machine shop can do all of this for you.
