can't see what you are referring to..the carbon build up looks normal...can you post larger pics...or is the black discoloration what you are concerned about?

It has ash all over it! I pulled two plugs, the driver side front and passanger front. The driver was perfect! But the passanger was trashed! Its WHITE!! Sux! I thought this kit was out of the box! Guess not!

are you using any fuel additives? when was the last time u change the plugs? i think for the F/I setups you should change them every 8k miles.... i wouldn't worry to much, change them out, 1 step colder, and get the bad boy tuned...trust me you will be much happier with a tune supercharger, im happy as can be with my setup, just got back from the track and ran a 12.3 @ 112, im stoked, change'em tune it, simple, you wont regret it...

Well these plugs only have 180 miles on them, the kit only has 180 miles on it. One step colder with a gap of 35. I thought I was seeing lean but now its look like from the chart its the carbon deposits from rich mixture. I have a tune setup for next month. That was the soonest I could get in.

1-step colder plugs are more likely to foul from the onset ... couple that with the pig rich Vortech stock map ... there goes $40 of plugs in 180 miles. Search the area ... see if you can get her tuned quicker.

If those are Iridiums, don't let a brush get near them. The electrode is so brittle you can break it by just blowing on it. Incidentally, the stock tune, which is excellent, is based on a stock set up. You've got an aftermarket exhaust so that changes things. When you get dynotuned, if your experience is like mine, there will be very small changes in AF up high--over about 5800 or so--to bring it up from around 10.5 to 11.5. But you spend so little time up there, I sincerely doubt that's fouling your plugs. Are you consuming oil? Also, lots of stop and go driving at low RPMs in cold weather can cause fouling--you just won't get the plugs hot enough to burn off the stuff. My suspicion, if it's only one cylinder, is that the problem is with that cylinder or with the gapping of that particular plug. If it's the tune, all the plugs should be fouled. Lastly, ash is not caused by richness, so I think you've got a different problem than a bad tune.

Well after I looked at the chart posted its carbon deposits. That says rich mixture. Only one plug was semi ok the rest had carbon on them. I cleaned them off and put them back in the car and she fired right up! The thing is Ive been driving pretty easy on her and wanted to until the tune was done. I got on it a few times but nothing REALLY hard. But the last time I did the missing started. Im calling tomorrow to see if I can get a sooner dyno date. I hope it comes soon cause the weather is getting NICE!!!
