Default Turbonetics owners in LA

Anybody here with a turbonetics , single turbo?
Where did you buy / got it installed, how much did it cost.

I am still in between APS twins or turbonetics and save money.
Average aps twin instal on a stock motor, including the kit and tuning is about $10,000 i belive. I was thinking maybe i might be better of with a single turbo....

If you have the $10,000 to spend, you will be better off with a built motor (SGP short block) and a Turbonetics kit at 14psi or so ... why settle for less

I would also venture to say that this would be a safer setup than even the stock APS TT

How much horse power would 14 psi give with singe turbo?

If I am building the engine i am going apstwins, well since i am plannig not to spend $10k I was thinking if turbonetics kit with a decent price and installation might be a good idea.

Sorry for the newbe question...but what are the implications if you get pulled over by the cops? Can they look under your hood and tell you that the turbo's are illegal? I know there are aways around smog certification, which won't be 'till about 2009, but what about getting caught by the cops?

They are going to know. No matter what kit you get they are going to open the hood and see shiney piping and ask for your CARB cert...when you don't have one you are toast...

which means they will impound your non-street legal vehicle and you pay big $$$ fines .. unless the cop is cool, which I have seen happen here in socal

Basically, if you retain the stock grill to hide the intercooler and don't drive around doing super-jdm blowoffs in parking lots, you will be fine. Cops here have better things to worry about

I was actually thinking about getting the cat pipe for the Turbonetics kit. Sounds like I'm screwed anyway if I get caught so I guess there's no point in bothering.
