Default APS Twin Turbo Install Begins!

It has officially begun! With the 0 amount of time we have, it'll be done around memorial weekend

Complete write-up will be at www.activetuning.com/pat/4 in the future.

We're starting to pull everything out of the car. If anybody has any pic requests, just let me know!

Looking good.... Can't wait to see the pictures and read the write-ups. If everything goes to plans, I'll be doing mine starting US memorial weekend.

BTW, are you doing it yourself in your garage without a lift? That's the way I'm planning to install mine...

Thanks!

I was originally going to have MRC Motorsports do the install, but we decided to take it on ourselves. So yes, in the garage without the use of a lift I'm not looking forward to trying to get those manifolds out lol!

The adapter cable shown is shipped (jacked into itself) , but gets placed between the OEM ECU and the OEM harness.Sorry ,I'm at work and don't hjave a photo of mine.

The "Unichip" is two little silver potted boxes that jack into the Tee-d connectors.

I can't discuss the pricing, but we got the kit directly from APS. They are a great company, and this kit is very nice and complete. I would HIGHLY recommend the kit and APS in general. Owning my own automotive company, I know how hard it is to come by quality.

I can't argue with the quality and the company, but man when I first picked up the FMIC, I was pretty suprised at how heavy it was. It's all good, it's rugged and makes a nice heat sink, it was just suprising how "beefy" it was.

are you going to do the install without taking the engine out?

2 pic requests, before and after of the stock fuel line that needs to be bent and the same for the AC (i think, maybe its the PS) line in the front to allow room for the piping

thanks

Wow, all these people installing their own TT kits, myself included. Good to see. I can't wait to see how your install turns out; be sure to take lots of photos and post them often so I can use them as reference for my install next week!!

Yes we are.

Will try and take a before and after, not up to that point yet, still removing everything. I think we're calling it a night for now, we're working on the manifolds, and there are about 5 total bolts on those left.

A tip for anybody doing this..on the steel water tube on the right hand side, there is a bolt on the bottom that connects to the cast water tube. I don't have the FSM, so maybe it says in there. But that was a pretty hard bolt to get to, we found it much easier once the manifold heat shield was taken out of there to get that right off. Aside from that, everything is not THAT bad so far, just some PIA bolts here and there, but fairly straightforward. Pics look similar as before just with a few more tubes and what not taken out, more pics to come once the manifolds are gone!

yes i found it ironic that the twin turbo kit that still keeps the stock crash beam in place uses such a friggen heavy intercooler that you probably dont even need it... i wish a Mack truck good luck is busting thru that thing... I call it the kangaroo skull buster.
