After a PM with Lemans350Z . He told me [ I believe ] his numbers in the R4 fuel map , were 9's . This is far from maxing out what you can pull fuel out . Mine are in the 7's after 6000rpm . I dont know if his tuner didnt feel comfortable with the R4 program or what . But he for sure can lean it out enough to get it back to where it was.
When I first posted my dynos I asked about the 9s wanting to know if that was normal and could we have gone lower in the R4. Check thread...

I wish that someone would have told me that my 9s are OK and that he can take it even lower. Ed told me has never had to go into the 9s before much less the 7s with the R4. Maybe their are still gains to be made. It does sound like several hours on the dyno. The car goes back on Wednesday while I work.

AlanL do you have time to baby sit the car at the shop? I know you have an interest in the new intake.

Yeh but were they tuned for 91 , 93 or etc?
You need to puill extra timing to make it safe for crappy Cali 91.

I agree (though I was thinking more like 450-455 range)... and the timing I got, IMO, is exactly what I was asking for. I just wanted to verify for everyone else that my car **could** be making even more power. That is, we are not at the limit of my current configuration.

Thought that extra knowledge may help illustrate the difference between someone with only the 3.12" pulley upgrade vs the 3.12" pulley upgrade AND the SSV.

hmm... mcduck also wondering if he should fill up on 100 octane one day and get a re-tune that could be loaded strictly for the drag strip...

Sharif,

Do you think added just the Emanage would make tuning the car easier? Seems like tuners seem to know it alot better the the R4 I am using now. Can I use this setup without upgrading the to the return fuel system and injectors? I am thinking I could add the return fuel system and injectors later this year.

Thanks!

LeMans350
PM me your email, I'll send you a copy of my fuel map and you can show it to your tuner . So then he will be OK with bringing the numbers down and getting that A/F right . You wouldnt be able to use my exact map , but you can get an idea

Would G352NV see and increase in numbers if the same A/F curve was moved into the mid 11's starting at about 3500 rpms and continuing to 6500 rpms?

If I may respectfully add a comment Ron:

If I am understanding what you are saying correctly...if his A/F is at 12:1...by richening it to 11:1 or below will indeed increase the safety blanket of the tune but will decrease the power gain, not increase

I agree (though I was thinking more like 450-455 range)...
Possible, but more likely a little bit less. You'll experience some parasitic losses with the SC. With a turbo setup, the power gains with each degree of timing are a bit higher.

Not very easily. The FMU would make tuning with an eManage very challenging. It would be best to stick with the basic Vortech fuel and engine management system, and then upgrade to a return fuel system and eManage setup all at once....whenever you are ready.

Ok I talked with Rob at Z car. Seems I, we, were looking at the wrong #'s. The blue is the before and red is after. He said that the reason why my #'s are low is because these are real world #'s. He did 9 pulls within a hour so the motor was good and heat soaked and thats one of the reason why my 3's are low. The timing is set for 91 oct. Cali chit gas! He said if I ran a higher octane he could adjust the timing to make more power. He also said if I wanted just a higher dyno reading he could also help with that, lol. All in all I found out the car is very safe. He said if I wasnt worried about my motor he could make much higher #'s
As for the Kinetix IM he said he dyno'ed a car right before mine with and without it. The car was turbo'ed and made 10hp more with it.
