Default Good shop to install a TT kit ?

Hey guys, I'm looking to install a TT kit in the next couple of months. I'm still in the early stages of the research (picking which one I'm gonna go with) and trying to learn what I can about it before investing.

The current leader for me is the Greddy TT w/ an intercooler. My question is, does anyone know a good place to get this kind of work done in the central florida area? I can't do the work myself, it's beyond my scope of knowledge.

How could you choose a Greddy TT over an APS TT? The obvious choice is APS. I wish there was more choices. But the fact stands. If you were thinking Single Turbos then It would be a different story cuz the Turbonetics seem pretty close to reliability and power as the APS ST. Just curious as to why you would risk your motor this late in the game unless you have one on the side just in case.

Or maybe the lack of APS dealer/tuner nearby? I think I saw Florida didn't have one or was getting one. Then i could empathize but not understand.

^^^^^Here we go again.........

You might want to pm theking. He is in the central FL area and just built a motor with the greddy tt kit. Also post this at g35driver.com in the groups section. Florida has their own forum.

To be honest, I was under the impression that the Greddy was the best bang for the buck and best kit overall. I haven't searched the forums all that well yet, and haven't actually decided on a specific kit. I'm just feeling it out right now, trying to see if there is even a place to get something installed in my area.

Thank you both for the information though. I appreciate it.

The APS TT is the most complete and safest kit out of the box currently on the market. With the greddy kit you will have to buy additional parts to make it as safe and complete as the APS. As mentioned above if you go with the APS TT there are currently no authorized tuners for the engine management that comes with the APS TT (unichip).

Japtrix is located in West Palm Beach and is working on becoming an authorized unichip tuner but that won't be for several months.

Contact Sharif at forgedinternals.com. He is a my350z.com sponser and he can set up you with a TT that best fits your needs vs. trying to sell you something just to make money.

Exactly, maybe you can get all your needs from a Single Turbo kit which is cheaper, easier to install and maybe safer. Hope that helps. I just would hate to see someone unhappy because no one bothered to inform them.

GReddy would definitely be your best bang for your buck. It's a tuner kit but definitely the most inexpensive twin turbo setup to put together and still be good to 600+rwhp (as far as doing anything to the turbo setup, the motor is a different story).

APS is the most complete out of the box.

(the above paragraphs only apply to TT setups)

Turbonetics gets my vote for ST though. Can't beat the price vs. features. The features on the APS ST don't outweigh the price IMO. Both are great choices though and both are safe choices.

Thanks for all the information everyone. I'm going to need to call around monday and gather some more information. Definitely don't want to be making the wrong choice, and I'd rather make it a little safer for my car.

I had first planned on getting a single T setup, but it looks like it's almost as expensive as a TT.

Hey CRJ-

On a serious note, I am going with APS ST. Look into that. There is more information on the AS ST at the "other" big 350z board (PM me if you don't know which one I am referring to). The costs of some of the TT setups, such as Greddy, are about the same as the a single turbo system, however, labor is a big factor...typically twice as much $$ to instal twins. If you go with APS, everything is there minus gauges...other systems are not as complete.

TT system will typically end up costing about $2500-$3000 (30%) more over a single turbo system including extra labor and necessary parts.

If you're leaving the motor stock internally, there's really no reason to do TT unless you plan on going big later or live in CA.
