Angry The wait is killing me!

How do all you guys building your motors go so long without your car?! I don't mean literally, I have a DD, but mentally, how do you do it? I'm starting to forget that I even have a Z!

I've been without my car since 03/25/05. My new SGP long block is back in the car and all I am waiting on is my ECU to be shipped back from TS. I should have the car back Monday or Tuesday. It has been the longest 4 months of my life. It has been one set back after another, but I can see the light now.

Move to a colder climate, then do this kind of stuff over the winter when you wouldn't be driving your precious Z anyway. Infact, getting major work done over the winter is a great way to stay "connected" to your Z when you are not driving it, and really gets you eager for when spring comes around.

Pretty much, except I'm not doing the fuel system this time around, I'm just going to tune as high as I can with the existing APS fuel system for now.

Actually, Mr Smarty Pants, it has been a little over a month
But unlike you, when my car is out of commision, I can't actually see it sitting in my garage, it's in a whole other state LOL.

There's just something about shelling out thousands upon thousands of dollars, and not being able to physically see any progress...it messes with your mind!

My car was sitting in my driveway the whole time.....doesn't make the time go by any faster. Actually, I think it made it worse cause I would see my car everytime I left my house, only I did not get to drive away in my car.

Never thought about it that way; yea, that would really suck! But, I have wheels and tires coming this week, with nothing to put them on! I have to watch them collect dust (not literally; they're Volks ) for another two months! It's so unfair...

Try and find a new temporary hobby that will take your mind off things. Try SCUBA diving, biking, or something else that requires expensive equipment, and has a coolness factor. That will help.

^^^LOL^^^ then this downtime should be a breeze. All I can say, is that you will look back on the 1-4 month delay as just a bump in the road. The wait will be well worth it.
