I just mounted the bracket from under vs over. Done!

I was under the car most of the evening and everything I touched turned to poop.

1) 2 of the studs for the cats were stripped.
2) 1 hole in the stock cats is now screwed up.
3) My brother shaved the wrong side of the knuckle.
4) The wheel turned.
5) I forgot the washers on the freaking turbo exits.
6) Because the wheel was turned, we dumped even more power steering fluid all over me...

But!!!! One of my buddies dropped by, and worked with my bro on the top side while I was screwing everything up underneath. So the intercooler is mounted, the horns moved, etc.

I have to get the cat situation fixed in the morning, buy fluids for the car, and then 'fix' everything I did wrong tonight.

So by noon, when my brother gets here we should have 9 short steps left!!!!

The steering knuckle wasn't my fault... That one was my brother... I told him... but he insisted he did it right. So... 4 for me... 1 for him.

Yeah, I think I'll just leave it for now...

When I pull the engine to rebuild/swap I'll worry about it then.

Well today was day 7...

I have VERY few things left...

Fuel run
Vaccume line for fuel
Crash beam (Dremmel holes!!! in intercooler braket)
Power Stering cooler
Computer

I'm SURE the car will be started tomorrow. Having done this kit once, I can say the second time would take about 1/2 the time.

I had help 2 of the days with multiple people... The rest of the days it was just my brother and me.

(BTW you may need a new water return line from the radiator, I have to pickup about a 7" longer one.)

The two MOST timeconsuming things were fuel, and LHS turbo fitment... (For me that is.)

Default Vroom Vroom

Car starts!!!

Now I got an engine code about misfires... This may be my racelogic... I may have to disable that for now.

I added fluids... no apparent leaks.

Only other thing that was iffy was routing that freaking vaccume line. But I think that is A OKAY.

(Run it next to the rear window washer line, there is a nice spot for it inside the car, under the molding in the edge.)

Intercooler mounting brackets slotted, still had to slightly modify the crash beam to make it fit.

I think thats it.

Time to DRIVE!!! No bumper or hood on yet... But its nice out, I'll just go down to Camas proper and back up the hill... See if I BLOW UP!

Oh and on time... I worked Friday Night, all day on the weekends, and about 2 - 5 hours every weeknight.

Most nights I only got about 2 hours in...

I'd double check your injector harness connections, making sure they're all plugged in nice and snug to the correct injector. Also, make sure all of your spark plug gaps are within spec, and make sure all of the coils are making contact with the plugs. If none of those remedies it, I don't know what to tell ya.

Oh, and don't be cheap; replace the plugs with one-step cold plugs while you're in there!

I've got a full set of plugs!!! They just arn't in the car!

I was reading other threads about how NASTY the colder plugs get sometimes so I was going to try and keep the stock ones...

I'm tempted to RIP the Unichip right now, and wire in my Greddy Ultimate...

Drove it some... The misfires are very noticeable. It is not the RL, I bypassed it. Humm...

I have to fix my steering wheel... and I also have to replace the plugs... I'll do that tonight, and drive more tomorrow.

I've been babying it... Temp is holding... I think my coolent levels are okay.

And BTW THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HELP! I'm so glad I'm 99.5 complete... The car has got some power!!! I don't know how much yet... but its got it!

Default Found the problem. (I think)

My bro wired the injector loom backwards...

Gee no wonder it ran horrible and 1/2 my plugs were FOULED hard core.

I started to swap the plugs, and noticed that all one side was HORRIBLE.

Humm, I wonder if he fliped the sides, so right side is getting fuel 1 cyl early, and left is getting feul 1 cyl too late. (Or 5 early!)

Sho-nuff...

2 hours later... Its all back together...

It took us only 1 hour to pull and fix that issue, the other hour was for the steering knuckle, replacing plugs etc...

I'm about to get into the car and see if we start!!!

Steps away...

We start!!! CRAZY!!! Well off I go to see how it works now!

I'm assuming you're referring to the vacuum line that goes to the APS fuel pressure regulator by the fuel tank. I routed mine through the middle console, under the shifter and behind the radio...really really easy and there's tons of room in there.

Glad the car's running!

Default Over and out.

Well my car runs well... Everything seems to work!!!

Man I'm a master mechanic! It just takes me 3x longer, and I make 2x the mistakes!!!

I'm sooo relieved... I haven't done anything but sweat, bleed, drink, and eat that car for 9 days.

Everything is buttoned up. It looks 100% stock. I even painted the intercooler to hide it. Nobody will be the wizer! (Untill you here the soft pitter patter of my blow off valve.)

So now I've got a Base 350z with a race logic TC unit, more stereo then I should have, and twins. Only thousands upon thousands of dollars more till I'm complete!!!

Again thanks for the help all. Cart, etc! My next thread should have my boost levels, A/F, and dyno graph. I'm planning on bringing it in to double check. (Oh and I can't really see any smoke!!! Did I do it well enough, or get lucky enough not to blow smoke???)
