Kyle...i sent you an e-mail a few days ago regarding a few things with your tranny upgrade...hit me back when you get this though...e-mail addys Sins4u33@hotmail.com ive been in touch for quite awhile now..

the VB looks great after seeing all this...it looks like us 5AT guys might have some a good advantage now...shifts are very firm it seems...which i really need, hopefully reduce my 12.3 @ 112 down to a 12 flat or less if possible we will see though

Kyle get back to me though, Thanks man

shifts are quick when the tranny "actually" shifts. i see you still have to short shift to have the tranny shift on time before the fuel cut off.

are you guys working on upgraded clutch packs as well? the VB shifts well, but will the packs hold up to all the low-end torque?

NOt sure what you mean here., the only reason i was in 1M is to keep it in gear and only go full throttel t over 3-4K. I am not very well tuned on the low end in 1st gear.

no, that's not what i mean. in your manual mode vid, i can see that you are short shifting at 5000rpm in 1st gear. you can see the gear display change from 1 to 2 around 5000rpm, but your rpms still climb to redline before the tranny "actually" shifts to 2nd. same goes for 2 to 3 (gear display changes at 6000rpm but doesnt shift till redline).

I see. Yes I did that in the first video, to make sure it shifts, as I had not done too many full auto runs at the time. I thought you were referring to the second video, where you can see that short shifting is not required for the shifting to occur. It does so very well at 6600-6700 indicated (6400 or so actual) in full "D" mode.

Yeah that's an annoying misfire CEL I have head that I can't figure out. I suspect it's spark plugs. Swapping them out soon.

Hey Guys

Got some objective data for you, as promised. Did some logs during our G/Z gettogether in Chino Hills. I am using Innovate Motorsports' suite of datalogging equipment. It samples the channels at .122 second intervals, i.e. 12 Hz. In this case, it may not be enough to get a REALLY accurate measurement down to +/- a few milliseconds, but it'll have to do, and the results do speak for themselves.

Here is the before, pre-VB logs of the 1-2, and 2-3 shifts:

One more before 1-2 shift log

Here are the logs from earlier tonight:

The black trace is the rpm trace, and the tags mark the closest logged point on the trace (the tag snaps to these points and interpolates everything in that .122 second interval) where i believe, and you can deduce for yourself if you do not agree, the shift happened. Each of the tags has it's exact time stamp, and subtracting the two before-and-after-the-shift time stamps will give us the approximate shift time (to around +/- 0.06 sec accuracy the way I figure)

As you can see, the times the stock VB executes the 1-2 shifts in about 0.57 sec and 0.49 sec (i think i was a little optimistic with the latter, look at my selected shift end point), in 1st and 2nd graph respectively, and the 2-3 shift in about 0.49 sec.

Looking at the third trace of the SGP VB shifts from tonight, you can see that the shifts are executed in 0.25, 0.17, and 0.24 seconds for 1-2, 2-3, and 3-4 shifts, respectively. Remember that each of these numbers is an approximation to within +/- 0.06 seconds or so... nonetheless i think these numbers are pretty reliable.

This represents a decrease in shift time of about 49-56% and 63% for shifts 1-2 and 2-3, respectively. Realistically, given the scarce data that I have for the stock shifts in my library of logs, i do not think that we can be 100% sure that these are the very numbers..but comined with the subjective evidence, I think it's pretty safe to say that the shifts are about twice as fast (80-100% faster to be more conservative) or better (i.e. take 50% of the stock shift times).

Hope this helped.

Nice work! Thanks for the numbers! Now all I need is to know when Kyle is ready to start making the VB available. I wasn't ever excited about what Level 10 or Stillen had to offer.

O.K.

I know you did not have time to educated us old "dinasours" to what the new technology can do. But I looked at the Charts you posted and I must admit the results were immediatly reconisable

- Your method of data logging is "Awsum"

Please advise Tony and I..
