So if you already have the vb, tc, and cooler upgrades, you can have someone install the clutch packs later... right?

You could, but you'd be spending more later. Its best to have the TC,VB and CP done at same time. CP works involves in rebuilding the tranny, which means you'd have to ship the whole tranny to shop. CP is the weakest link on a FI 5AT tranny. VB and TC will not alone protect your tranny, only improves performance. Rebuilding tranny will improve performance and reliability when you have FI.

I have the TN kit w/ no internal engine mods (354 whp on mustang dyno) & don't drive the car hard all the time (no track racing). Just once in a awhile (when needed) would like to be able to punch to the floor w/o worrying about the tranny. Would this VB upgrade allow my transmission to safely shift automatically at WOT on Auto mode w/o hitting the rev limiter?
Thanks!!!

The reason Tim says he will only do the clutch packs only on a full rebuild is beacuse he using the stock clutch plates.
which are most likely used, due to the fact you can't even get stock replacements yet.
so as of right know if your clutch packs go then your best bet is to find another transmission w/ low miles.
if any one is interested I have a connect on transmissions fromm 1200miles to about 15k miles prices very from around 1400-3000k

If I get aftermarket plenum and upgrade to 2.5" or 3" exhaust can probably get another 40-50+horses around 8.5-9psi, tuned slightly aggresive.
I figured with that much turbo you should be putting down a lot more than that! But what do I know!

Of the 3 optional VB upgrade ( SGP $1100, Level 10 $800, Stillen $700), SGP seems to shift quicker and smoothier from reviews. SGP's VB is good up to 500whp. Theres GroupBuy right now on the SGP VB. Only Level has the core exchange program though and they do their own VB work. SGP sends VB work to So.Cal. I believe.

Maybe level 10 has been in the game for a while but the only thing i heard from SGP's VB is good things about it.

I have heard that level ten had some problems with a few customers.

Does anyone know who in So. Cal. SGP sends them to? That's local for us.

Any here have the LVL10... from what I hear ALL of their other lvl10 tranny upgrades are FAR SUPERIOR to almost EVERYTHING on the market... so personally I'd rather go with someone who does it themselves

Nobody knows? I cant seem to find any information on how to fix the transmission so that it does not hit the rev limiter. Everyone a 5AT and forced induction seems to have this problem. Will this VB upgrade fix that?

I believe the combination of raising the rev limiter to 7100 rpms (or even 7200 rpms as some have done) along with the VB upgrade will greatly improve your odds you do NOT hit the limiter. So far I have only raised the rev limiter to 7100 and at WOT it's not always an issue. Also, be sure you turn off TCS as wheel spin tends to be more of a problem with FI.

I read somewhere that Vinny Ten was emphatic about not raising your rev limiter on a stock internals F/I VQ35. Supposedly he said that most of the blown motors was because of just that, raising the rev limiter.
