Default 5AT with Greddy TT - Speak up please

I am seriously going nuts thinking of this. There seems to be a lot of questions if I should do this.

If anybody has it on their cars (05 5AT), can you please tell me what, if any, pitfalls I may face, and what else should I look out for and do!

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Is Greddy the best option? I know, I know, the age old question, but I seem to kinda have Greddy stuck in my mind!

PS: Where's the best place to buy one from currently? Sorry, not been on here for a while, and on 56K modem, searches take forever!

I got one on my 03' G35 coupe 5A/T,

No problems yet but I do have a built motor and a tranny oil cooler.

If you're staying at stock boost then just add a tranny cooler, get it tuned right (most important) and you shouldn't have any problems.

I'm not sure if the Greddy kit works with the 05's yet, I think they have a different ECU.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, that is something I had read a while ago, but was not sure. Thanks for bringing it up.

Anybody got any ideas if this is true or not?

Thanks

I've got an '05 5AT and will be installing my GReddy TT soon. Just trying to decide on the best local shop to handle the install. I did speak with GReddy and the kit is not set-up for the 05 ECU and 5AT, so I guess I may be "blazing a new trail" soon. It will require some tweaking. I also purchased the eManage Ultimate to use in lieu of the unit that came w/kit. Will keep you posted.

Also, my thinking on going with GReddy was that it has been mass produced for some time now. I figured that whatever bugs there were, have probably been reported or discussed. That being said, it's a risk going FI but heck any great rewards carry some risk.

From the various readings on this forum, I would suggest you call Sharif from www.forgedinternals.com and speak with him at length. Him and phunk (from CJM in Illinois) are probably two of the best resources in the country when it comes to setting up the Greddy TT on these cars. Also, SGP will soon have some mods for the 5AT (valve body upgrade for sure) that you will want to look into to keep your auto tranny happy and healthy for the long haul and high HP.

Thumbs up Thanks zzzya!

My plan is to get a local install and thereafter make a trip up to see Sharif and CP Racing to get it "expertly" tuned. So far, I'm not finding many local shops with extensive GReddy experience. Also, I've been reading about the SGP stuff on the forum and it looks very promising. Again, thanks for the advice.

GReddy on an '04 5AT here. Finding a reputable shop for the install should be number ONE on your list. Good luck with the project.

blackend,

Well, that is interesting, have to admit. I will get hold of Arabian Motors and ask the question. Cheers.
