Default 450 whp @ 8.5-9 psi

I went yesterday and got the car tuned, by Charles who now works at Super Viper Systems (svspower.com), and boost turned up. I am making 452hp and 419tq on 8.5-9psi. The car still needs some minor messing with. Boost is fluctuating in upper rpms, hopefully if I adjust the BOV it will fix it. And it overboosts sometimes. I have to dial in all the settings on the boost controller to get it all right. We had a ***** of a time getting the tune good. We made about 40 dyno passes, and the first 30 of them could have been thrown out the window. There was a loose clamp on the intake pipe by the throttle body, so air was getting out up there. Which is after the MAF which was causing all kinds of problems with a/f and boost. Once we fixed that, it was smooth sailing(except for the figidy boost controller). All in all, the car pulls like hell, and its fuggin fast! I have newfound respect for the car at this power level. A jump from 345 to 450 makes a huge difference. We even heard the tires break loose for a sec in 4th gear on a test run. Anyhow, heres the dyno chart, and thanks Charles!!

fix that boost problem then go back and fix that a/f. Man the boost is making it jump all over the place.

Nice numbers man. Good luck at SVS Charles, seems like that would be an awesome company to work for.

Wow that's very impressive. Hard to believe you're getting so much power while running so rich.

the peak numbers are at about 11.5:1 A/F, which is a pretty typical A/F on a stock engine 350z with twins... not exactly what I would call rich in this situation.

The midrange of the powerband is very rich and jumpy, as the boost was fluctuating too fast for me to get a good tune, so I left it as a safe tune for now.

So are we done seeing new stuff for the Z from you, Charles, or does the fact that there's a Nissan 350Z slot on the SVS website mean that there might yet be some tricks coming out? (I hope) And is there a thread about that CJM Intake Manifold listed in your sig and I've missed it, if not I think we need to start one to keep up with progress.

mcderns- looks like a lot of fun, hope you get your tuning issues worked out.

Nope, no cams. I know I would get some good gains, but I am happy where I am at for now. Broke too! Maybe I will toss a plenum on or something, but nothing for a little bit. Maybe winter time.
