Getting the motor sleeved is not the same as running closed deck. When you are running closed deck the cylinders are completely supported up top closing off the cooling jackets and you only have small holes drilled to allow coolant to flow. Here is a closed deck AEBS:

Here is a mid deck DARTON:

Well I haven't seen many people having cylinder wall problems it is normally a rod problem so closed deck for added cylinder wall strength probably isn't needed. You planning on running alot of horsepower? The cooling of the cylinders isn't as good and getting good headgasket seal is sometimes hard with a closed deck.

I think you both missed the line where he said Altima. He might not even be talking about a VQ35DE.

Not all of them. I'm giving him an out after he made that statement about 18 psi and 400 whp.

Sleeving is unneeded at those power levels. Only time will tell if the stock block will support 600-800whp without sleeving it up. I have been using that phrase a lot lately....only time will tell...sorry. But I think its appropriate here, given the newness of the VQ35 and really high boost territory.

The two people that got AEBS sleeves have had various head sealing related issues. Whether it was the sleeves, or something else...is arguable. But given the track record, I would recommend the Darton over AEBS.

IS AEBS still in business, BTW?

I would agree with that.

Yeah, AEBS is still in business. Long story, they are designing the website on their own...it isn't going very well apparently.

my AEBS sleeve held the headgaskets just fine. I had posted that I had thought I blew a headgasket, but then I posted later saying that was not the case.

I think we just got into troll territory. If this person "really" wants this much power then they aren't going to sleeve the motor. We all know that.

EDIT: He is a troll. Here is another thread he started http://www.nissanclub.com/forums/sho...oto=nextnewest
